I recently ran out of black ink. So I bought a remanufactured ink jet cartridge that is the replacement for the No 94 cartridge. It says on the cartridge "replacement for HP-C8765W Black No 94 Not an HP Product".
Does HP block its printers from working unless you use an HP ink cartridge, thus not allowing its customers to buy a remanufactured unit and saving money. In other words, is this not working because they're forcing me to use their proprietary ink or for some other issue. I know the printer is connected (USB) and is talking to the computer because when I click print it goes through all the usual motions, except that a blank page comes out. The color ink cartridge is HP and is full btw. I need this printer for work, thanks for any tips!
SOURCE: printer goes throught the motions of printing, but what comes out is a clean page - no ink
Some of them do. Try going into the printer properties and disabling bi-directional support. This will not allow the printer to check. HP has set some printers to not function if its disabled, but hopefully yours is not one of them.

Have similar problem with remanufactured ink but does not print anything.
Gives popup that says used cartridge detected and explains that if I continue it will not be able to gauge ink level. Asks if I wish go on I should press resume. No resume option is given anywhere so I press the OK and it says the same over and over each time. Have approached it every way and results are the same. What can I do to use this type product?
