Kenwood KVT-617DVD Reduced volume and distortion

I just bought and installed it today. Its plays flawlessly for about 15 minutes and then the volume is reduced and the sound gets distorted. When the unit is shut off for a while, it works fine again for about 15 minutes and the same thing repeats.....Please help...any ideas?

I have the same problem, filed a claim with Kenwood and they said that it's def. an issue with my internal wiring.

I had to jump start my car today.When i did this it cause my kenwood kvt-617dvd to show a white screen and my navigation volume to go very low.I fixed the screen problem but i cannot get the sound to go back up.the radio volume is up but the navigation volume is down.If someone read this and can help me solve this problem E-mail me at thebig [email protected]

I bought the kvt-617dvd player off of ebay and and the seller forgot to include the password , and i have it all installed and need to know how to unlock password

You can call their company and mabye one of them can come down to your home and unlock it for you, or they'll tell you that you can just reset it by hitting a certain code of numbers or buttons

no it dont i have one for this unti not sure if it works thought bought it off ebay with my kvt-715 but they say the hideaway wont work it so i need to find one for my deck and this one as no wire harness either

Contact the manufacture and tell them your kid was playing around with it and accidently locked it. They might make you send it in or/and charge you a fee. Good luck.

What add on do i needed

The kvt-617dvd doesn't list your changer as one that's compatible. However the changer install procedure is relatively simple - just plug the 13-pin cable from the changer directly into the kvt-617's hideaway receiver. I would suggest you connect it to see if the changer will work before buying anything else.

the wireing off the brain is connected wrong, ok look at the wires and now disconnect your remote wire from the amp remote now connect the second blue wire to the remote wire going to the amp, now your sound should be right
