Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Phone doesn't turn on, randomly shuts off

Recently, I accidentally dropped my phone. The back fell off, and the battery popped out. After putting them back in I found, of course, a couple of new problems with my phone. The most noticeable one is that it's random if it will turn on or not. If it does not turn on, the buttons will light up, and the screen will either be blank or an all white screen. If it does turn on, it usually only stays on for about 2 minutes. I've tried using a different RAZR V3 battery, and that didn't work. I've tried charging it, and turning it on while charging it, both which also didn't help.

My Motorola Razr V3 randomly shuts off. How do I fix the problem.

Same problem here and under almost the same exact circumstances. Phone was working fine before the drop. I've had it apart since then, reconnected all ribbon cable connectors, even gone as far as reflashing the phone, and it is no different than before. A different post mentions the flex cable that connects the keyboard and the screen, I believe, and that may be my next step-replacing that cable.

I have the same problem, and mine started long after it had taken a couple spills. I think I may just try to get it replaced. It's less than a year old.

I have the same problem, does no one know why that is and how to fix it!??

it had a couple of drops and once in the toilet but it worked fine the battery kept dying way to fast, but it still worked for a while. But recently out of no where it turns on only when it feels like it and freezes after a couple of minutes or shuts down by itself, and when it freezes I shut it off and then it doesn't turn on. Help?

I turn on my phone and hit any arrow key a few times and it automatically turns off in a few seconds. I have changed a new battery, but it continues to turn off. This is my second phone with the same problem.

    Thanks for your help

I accidentally dropped my lg optimus phone on the floor, and fell into soy sauce.

Oops. the next time something like this happens to any electronic device, immediately remove the battery and sim card if you can, and let the device dry in a warm dry place for several hours before you replace the battery and sim. Then retry. You will probably have to have it professionally repaired.

My phone was dropped and after a couple of hours passed the screen had a message from last april pop up n then eventually went blank. Can I fix this

Maybe,
take battery out ..quickly, then blow or use a vacuum to **** water out. put it in a ziplock with rice, uncooked of course and it should recover ... battery might be toast. so power it on after a few hours with the charger.
good luck.

please describe in detail "How you dried it"
I f you ever drop a cell phone in water 1st thing you do is pop the back off and get the battery out.
then shake the water out as best as you can.
leave the back off and battery out for 48 hours. Dont use an oven or Sunshine or a heater or even a hairdryer. After the 48 hours insert the battery and try it out. Most people make the mistake of trying it on withing an hour or two. that just shorts out parts of the phone and permanently crippling it. Following the above procedure for proper drying is your best chance for minimal damage done to any cell phone. Splash-- uh oh! Pop that battery out ASAP! Hope this helps and tell a freind what to do if it happens to them. (it happens ALOT)
and good luck...(sorry)

Everything works but the touch screen.

caring for the touch screen includes touching the screen with clean and DRY hands., if your phone fell in the water, it will likely damage the touch screen.. contact your nearest LG repair center.. i hope your phone will soon be fine..

I accidentally drop a water the keypad is not functioning after 20min or less.HELPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may be no good, but try this.

Remove the battery NOW and place a vacuum as close to the open back of the phone for 10-20 minutes. Repeat for 10 minutes on the front. Put the open phone into a bowl of rice (uncooked of course). Leave it overnight or even 24 hours. Reinstall the battery and recharge the phone.

Don't try to return it to the store as defective. Most phones have a wetness detector inside. They know when it has been soaked.

I suggest buying a hex wing screwdriver and taking your v3 apart and cleaning it. I had to do this with mine after i fell in a lake (don't ask!). Use a cotton bud and go over all of the contacts (don't use any cleaning fluid just rub it over). This worked for me and removes all of the residue but if you don't want to risk taking your phone apart then send it to Motorola for repairs or buy a new phone!

Hope this helps
