Most of the viruses and malwares also attack the Windows registry. Unfortunately running the anti-virus/anti-malware scans only does not remove the infections from Windows registry.

Step 2:
Download a good malware removal tool and conduct scan through it. The Google search redirect virus is caused by the malwares that shall be removed from the computer. If properly used with the registry cleaning tool, the antimalware can greatly help to fix the Google redirecting virus.

The above guidelines have been found to work well. Are you tired of this nuisance and want to have a quick fix to eliminate Google redirecting virus? Here are the tools which are recommended by PC experts to fix search redirect problem:

You will probably find several search providers, highlight InBox.Com it will activate your options (found at the bottom of the page)... click on ''disable suggestions'' which means it will no longer operate but will be available if you decide to use it later or click REMOVE to eliminate it altogether..
When you have done that check the box which says ''Prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search provider''
Also check to verify what your search provider is (it will read active) and whether it's the default.

How to remove Search Safer Chatzum virus?

start up in safe mode with networking, then try to run malwarebytes as antivirus programs are virtually useless this day in age. If that doesn't catch it try hitman pro and after it is removed run ccleaner to fix the registry. If all of that doesn't pan out you need to do a full wipe/reinstall of the OS on the HDD

How can i remove virus

Removing viruses, though technical, is yet a very simple process if all the required steps are properly followed.
The basic steps are:
  • Buy or download a reliable antivirus software
  • Install the antivirus software
  • Update antivirus software with the latest virus definitions
  • Perform a complete system scan
Install an Antivirus Program in the System What is Antivirus program? An antivirus is a program that searches for, identifies and removes potential viruses existing in the computer system.
Antivirus software: Some of the most commonly and reliable antivirus programs available in the market are -
  • Symantec Norton antivirus
  • AVG antivirus
  • McAfee Scan
  • Microsoft Antivirus
The antivirus software should be updated regularly to retain its effectiveness.
Before installing the antivirus, close all open applications and terminate any suspicious processes using Task Manager. Sometimes, you may need to boot into safe mode or safe mode with command prompt to delete suspicious programs and references to them in the Windows Registry (run regedit from the command prompt to open the registry editor).
Search engines are excellent tools to find out whether a certain process is harmful or not. You can also get steps on how to remove a specific virus manually.
Removing the virus beforehand might be necessary, as some viruses will not allow an antivirus to operate. However, if you are not successful, you may still continue with the installation.

Scan the System to Identify and Locate the Virus Usually, the antivirus will run automatically when the system reboots after the installation. Therefore, it might identify the virus automatically. Moreover, you may want to run a quick system scan to locate the virus.
Troubleshooting the Virus Infected Areas After the antivirus identifies the infected areas, the next step is to rectify those areas.
Methods of Eliminating Viruses
Generally, the antivirus adopts one of two methods to eliminate the virus:
  • Removing the virus - When the virus can be easily identified and can be removed without affecting other files, then the antivirus removes it from the host place.
  • Quarantine - his is done when the virus cannot be easily identified removed from the file and the removal of virus means the removal of the complete file. In this method, although the virus is not eliminated, it is rendered inactive by moving the file into "quarantine" and renaming it.
Perform a Full System Scan Even after the virus is removed from the system, the next step is to scan the whole system to ensure that no infected files remain.

Please completley remove the norton security from my computer...trying to run something comcst says you need to do something to rmove it...please do asap ...thank you

Go into Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. Wait for the list of all programs to load up.

Go down through the list and look for Norton Internet Security. Remove it. It will take a very long time, sometimes 1/2 hour or more depending on speed of computer. Reboot the computer after it has been removed, especially if/when it asks you to reboot after the process.

After rebooting, go back into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Look for Symantec or Norton's Live Update, remove that as well. Also remove any other Symantec/Norton Anti-Virus or Internet Security programs as well. Then reboot the computer again.

Your computer should be much, much faster now. So now you need a new Anti-Virus program...

I've found in my experience that Norton and McAfee do more damage to some computers than good, besides the fact that they are severely over-priced. I would NEVER install either Norton (Symantec) or McAfee on anyone's computer. Matter of fact, I just had to remove Norton 2008 from a lady's computer today, an old Dell 2400 because her system was too old and slow to run new Norton.

My suggestions for much better anti-virus would be...

- Kaspersky Anti-Virus (search for it on Google, etc)

- Trend Micro PC-Cillin Anti-Virus (search for it on Google, etc)

- AVG Free Anti-Virus at http://free.grisoft.com, they also have more elaborate versions with more protection for a cost.

I personally use AVG on my computers, and my family does as well. It's very effective and gets out viruses that even Norton cannot remove.
