The manual tells me to test the product by heating a cup of water for 30 seconds

Bernard,
I usually will test a cup of water for 60 seconds and it should be hot enough that you would not want to leave you finger in the water more than a couple of seconds. It would not be hot enough for most people to use for coffee or some other hot beverage but it would be hot enough to burn your finger if you leave it in there for very long. If it is still lukewarm after running for 60 seconds you probably have a problem with some of the major components and depending on the age of your microwave it might be cheaper to replace the microwave with a new one. Hope this helps you!

Heater not getting hot enough

Open the access door to the thermostat ( about 3" wide & 9" high, two screws) At the bottom of the thermostat there is an adjustment screw on an arrow and dial. Factory settings are at 120% for residential heaters. Reset to 135% is hot but it will not scald anyone. Higher temps are dangerous especially to those used to the old setting (if there are 2 doors reset both thermostats)

Tempstar pilot turns off

Based on your model number this furnace does not have a pilot light, instead it uses a hot surface igniter.typically it glows and when it gets hot enough the gas valve will open and the burners will light. When the igniter starts to go bad it will glow but not get hot enough to open the gas valve. If your furnace lights and the quickly goes out the flame sensor maybe dirty.

Is this tool known to get hot?

We have two of these at my work. It becomes very hot to hold after only about 4-5 minutes of running. And I do mean "hot"--hot enough to make the body distinctly uncomfortable to hold, and hot enough for me to worry about soldered connections inside melting. Connecting a dust hose to my 2 1/2" shop vacuum helps cool it a bit, but merely enough to double the run time to about 8-10 minutes. Then I set this sander aside and let it cool down for about 15 minutes before using it again. Yes it is known to get hot

I have to turn on lavatory faucet at the same time I'm running the shower so when I taking a shower the water doesnt go from hot to cold. It seams that maybe the hot water demad that the shower requires is...

This is not an uncommon problem with 'flash heaters' of this type; for safety, they all require a certain minimum of flow before the gas supply is turned on. Some brands/models have a factory-set adjustment for the minimum flow rate.
You might locate the mfr.'s website, contact them and describe your problem. This can also be caused by the modern flow-limited shower heads not allowing enough water to flow to keep the heater turned on.
If you have a retired shower head, you might try replacing the one currently used to see if it allows enough flow to allow proper operation. Either way, it is a waste of water.
