Dell only allows you to make 1 BACKUP Disk. but any Genuine XP iso. is bootable.... infact any genuine OS.iso is bootable... and DELL should auto boot to DVD when you insert the media, and reboot.

Create MS-DOS bootable diskette

When formatting a floppy diskette, users have the option of creating a MS-DOS startup disk, follow the below steps to do this.

1. Place diskette in the computer.

2. Open My Computer, right-click the A: drive and click Format.

3. In the Format window, check Create an MS-DOS startup disk.

Create Windows XP Setup diskettes

Microsoft is beginning to phase out bootable floppy diskettes in favor of bootable CD discs and has not included a method of easily creating a bootable floppy diskette in Windows XP or from the CD. However, Microsoft has downloads available for users who still need to create bootable diskettes to install (not upgrade) Windows XP. These downloads can be found through KB310994.

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

insert a bootable xp cd into the cd drive and hit enter continuosly...it ll ask to hit any key to continue from cd...hit any screen and follow the onscreen instructions...

if it doesnt works, try this....
u can log in to the setup by pressing del key or F2(depends upon make and model) and change the drive booting order...change the first booting device as CD/DVD and second booting device to HDD...
now it ll prompt you to hit any key to start from CD/DVD....
Make sure you have inserted a bootable XP CD in CD drive....Bootable XP CD's can be created only from another bootable XP cd by taking an image from that cd and writing it back to the cd...you can use NERO Copy disc option for this purpose...it ll create an iso image and you can use only this to write into the disc...

Where do i find a boot up disk for my hp pavilion running xp? currently the unit starts to boot and then restarts.

Trying to get a bootable XP CD is difficult if not impossible to purchase. Therefore you might want to create one.

I just recently created a bootable XP CD since I was building a new computer and wanted to be able to boot from a CD.

The following URL is a blog I found that helped me create my bootable CD

Create Bootable XP CD

You'll need an XP CD in order to copy the files to your hard disk and to extract the boot image from.

I already had an XP SP3 disk and didn't need to perform the "merging" like the link above does. I did find and download iso buster (freeware) in order to extract the microsoft boot image file.

I used the Roxio steps to create my CD. My version of Roxio was slightly different so the instructions were not 100% correct but I was able to figure things out.

If you successfully create your bootable XP CD you will still need your license key to install just as if it came right from the factory

Nlite Windows XP Pro SP2 not recognized

Dear,

You should use Nero 6 or above version. It is very easy to use.
Just create an image of original disc and then burn it on the blank disc. The copied disc will work fine, I am sure.
Please try it.....

Xp recovery

You need to download all the drivers installer files from manufacturer website first, and also all the software you want to install automatically with Windows. Then you build a Windows Xp boot CD with all the software setup embedded.
