Camera does not take pictures hi, my olympus 350 won't show any pics on screen. will show intrinsic instrustions... battery empty, card full but won't show whatecer l'm pointing it at. it seems to make a noise when press to take photo but screen constantly black.

I have the same problem but not as grave.
The set can click two to three pics before low batt.

Seems to be a problem with the flash capacitor.
Try with flash turned off the thing should improve.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Use a separate card reader to download your pics.

If this is a brand new memory card, the two things to do/check are:
- Make sure the camera supports 2GB of memory (manual should say that)
- Format the memory card - the manual should give detailed instructions of how to navigate through the menu and perform a format on the memory card

since your memory card is full, sometimes cameras stop working. try to use your card reader have it erase using your pc.

Hi, have olympus fe-280 camera. Battery on screen shows full but shows empty (an inch strip) in middle. I have charged it. Even bought a new battery. Can anyone help. Thank you. ...... I want thinking I may have two faulty batteries and just need to buy another one?!

Hi. Mine did the same thing one day. I took the memory card and batteries out and let it sit for a few minutes. I then replaced the batteries, but it said, "batteries empty." I then replaced the batteries with silver and blue energizers. It powered right up. I was afraid it was a gonner, but it's been fine since.

either the card takes a lot of time to write ur data or the battery isn't giving enough power

You must not take anymore pictures on your card. You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader.Put the card in the card reader, open the the program, select the drive where you recover pictures from, then click on start. Wait, for it to do it's magic.

You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around 10.00 and can be found at walmart, bestbuy, frys, probably target.
The problem with built in card readers is that they will usually only read up to a 2G card.

I was not able to recover photos by hooking the camera up to the pc with the usb cord, it just won't work.

This is the important part. Choose the pics you want to recover, then choose recover, a box comes up asking where you want to save to. Choose documents/my pictures or wherever you want to save your pictures too. The pictures ONLY save to your pc and not the card.

Format your card in the camera after you have retrieved your photos and backed them up to an external source.
