I have a sony laptop I spilled coke on keyboard..I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and didnt turn it on for 48hrs..it turns on but windows wont start only shows the circle of trying to connect pleas

I would have completely taken the laptop apart and washed and dried the keyboard separately and dismantles the keyboard itself to wash the insides of it where the rubber with the carbon paint touches the contacts. I would have avoided isopropyl alcohol. I don't know where to go from here.

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. How to clean spill out of keyboard on hp pavilion dv7 1245dx

Best thing to do is to take the keyboard out of the laptop. There is usually a top cover above the keyboard that needs to come off. Then there is some screws holding in the keyboard, unscrew those and then unhook the ribbon part of the keyboard off of the motherboard.

Then at that point take a paper towel or washcloth with glass cleaner and clean all around where the spillage is.

Also clean off the keyboard is well and let it sit for a day so it can dry out.

Then put the keyboard back and see if the keyboard is working properly, if not then you'll need to replace it.

My keyboard on my laptop wont work at all!!

  1. Turn off the computer, disconnect all external mouse devices, keyboards, USB devices, and the port replicator or docking station, and then restart the computer.
  2. Ensure there is not any debris between the keys or liquid spilled on the keys.
  3. Verify that the NUM LOCK is turned off.
  4. Remove all the accessibility options for the keyboard in Control Panel.
  5. Remove and reinstall the keyboard driver.
  6. Using the System Restore utility, restore the computer to a time when the keyboard was working correctly.
  7. Reset the BIOS defaults.

If the keyboard does not work in the BIOS Setup utility, the issue is likely a failed keyboard and service may be required.

Keyboard not responding after food spill and clean up

what type of food spill and how did you clean it affects the keyboard. What type of keyboard is it? Is a separate keyboard like for a desktop or is it on a laptop? for desktops, quickly turn the keyboard upside down to prevent fluids going further into the keys. After food spill, use a can of 'air'. Use short blasts to help blow out and dry any moisture out-at the same time, be sure to have the keyboard with keys facing down. for laptops, almost same-turn entire laptop upside down to allow fluids to escape. Be careful not to let the fluids come in contact with screen. Hope you have done some of this. If it doesnt work, you may need to replace the desktop keyboard and for laptops-take to repair shop for internal cleaning. Hope this helps

Spilled wine in keyboard

it really depends, on the logitech stuff they have the accidental spill holes in the bottom so liquid doesn't pool but there is a possibility that it could have saturated the board and ruinied the internals, just try to dry it out as best you can and hope for the best

Spilled water on it, now it wont turn on

Removed battery first. You should disassemble it to clean and wipe it dry. From bottom to top. Under its keyboard. Don't power it on until you are sure no water remains.

Mouse pad wont work after water spill

not difficult..with right tools and patience..the touchpad is part of the upper assembly, and requires that the bottom be removed. When I do this, it takes around an hour.
