I HAVE A LAARS LITE 2 POOL HEATER OUTDOORS I,VE COME TO LIGHT IT AFTER THE WINTER AND I CANNOT GET THE PILOT LIGHT TO LIGHT THERES A SPARK FROM THE IGNITION AND I CAN HEAR AND SMELL GAS WHEN THE WHITE BUTTON IS PRESSED DOWN CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE
Make sure enough gas is coming thru the piolet orface for the flame to touch the thermocouple. you may need to clean out the pipe that feeds the piolet orface and clean (make sure you can see light thru the piolet orface hole so that gas can come thru) with enough pressure to have the flame touch the thermocouple.
small spiders like to get into these places and spin webs and sometimes a blast of compressed air will clear out the poilet gas feed pipe & get you going again.
The thermocouple not only keeps the pilot on but lets the gas valve know its okay to open on a call for heat, remove your thermocouple and clean it with a fine grit sandpaper and if this doesn't work replace it all together.
