You've probably backed up the contents of your TomTom disk (when it was connected to your computer) to your computer before you reformatted the TomTom Disk. Or you used the TomTom Home to back up the contents of your TomTom.
Try to copy the back-up files back on to your TomTom device disk and see if it works.

Just curious ... why did you reformat your TomTom disk ? which will erase all the files on the TomTom disk.

SOURCE: tomtom one maps

I just had this same problem. Quite strange. I have a Tomtom One New Edition and connected to a Vista Ultimate computer. Here is what I did to fix the problem I was having.

Exited out of the Tomtom HOME application. Went to "Computer" and right clicked the Tomtom drive (was M: for me, could be different for you) with the Red Icon. Selected properties and click on tools. From there I selected "Error-Checking" and only checked "Automatically scan and fix errors for me". It said it found a couple errors and corrected it. I then doubled clicked the icon in the bottom right portion of my screen which looks like a USB plug with a green check mark on it. I selected the drive and clicked stop. I disconnected the usb plug and then used a small tack on the bottom of the Tomtom unit to reset the device. After that, I turned the unit on and all was fine and I could clearly see that an update was applied.

Good luck! They really should have a support bulletin for this as this is clearly a common issue.

SOURCE: tomtom one xl freezing on start up screen

OK... I found an amature solution;

- Do a soft reset of the system, with the paperclip (see tomtom site)
- Put the device on the docking station and connect it to power as well as to your computer. While it's turned off
- Turn on the TOMTOM while connected to the computer
- Start the TOMTOM Home software
- And it made connection again
- Disconnect the device via the software
- Take the device out of the docking station
- Turn it off and on once

This worked for me, my next step would have been the support desk. Grtz Derk

I lost my manual how do I reset my bottom xp 310 Canada

There should be a small button behind the headphone connector above the memory card slot. Use a small object (small screwdriver, clothing pin, toothpick, etc) and press down on it.

You may also download the manual via the TomTom website:

http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/home

Then go to "Manuals & user guides" enter your device model. It should bring up the manual or a similar model of it.

Error when loading songs

Here's what another user did - let me know if it works:
ok so i called 1-866-sandisk and she told me how to fix it. you just flip the key lock at the top so you see orange, then hold down the record button. then you should get some sort of message on the screen. then you plug it in and under my computer a file should show up. you open it and make a folder in it called sansa.fwm (i think thats the right folder name, if not, try sansa.tmp or email me). then you unplug it and it should say formatting or something like that. once its done it should work.

Password problems with zen vision m

try downgrading the firmware, which erases all information including the password .reg files and see if it works then re upgrade the firmware. If this does not work, try going to the recovery screen and selecting the reformat option this works differently than the option on your computer.
