Monitor shows on receiving signal, will not display image.

Hello,

This is a very common problem with this model after a few years of use. This problem is caused by a failure of the capacitors in the power supply board hat powers up the back lights in the monitor. When the back lights don't power up you get no display on the screen. Black screens or no pictures are usually caused by a failure in the back light power supply. Many times the monitor is working but with the back lights not turning on you can't see the display. hi; your monitor has no problem, its your cpu. Try to hook your monitor to your laptop,and change the display setting to your LCD monitor. If LCD has displaying no signal mean signal coming form the Video card of your CPU try to visualize if you hearing some beeps into from CPU, some motherboard has beep codes if there's an error or failure to your CPU, 1 beep means its good system test. if you don't hear any beeps, try to check first your Video Card if you have Spare try to replace it, try to reset all the connectors even Memory card to its slot. reset means pull the connectors and place it back again, also check the power supply of cpu if still functioning good.but you can test it by multi volt meter. if nothing happens check your motherboard most common failure is bloating capacitor, and overheating chipset. thanks....................hope this helps...................

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

your monitor might not recieving incoming signal thats why it turns off try to examin your cpu this might be the problem your system is no booting...replace your videocard..

I repaired my VX2235WM that wouldn't turn the display on anymore (would accept a video signal for a PC, but no image would be shown) by replacing 5 stressed electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board.

Tricky one. Have you tried using different dispay resolutions from your Windows Display Control Panel?
ie 1200x1014, 1600x1400, etc.

When you say you used the manual adjust, do you mean the horizontal sync option?

Did you perform a Settings Recall?

And most monitors have a way of entering into an engineering "Factory Service Menu". Usually by depressing specific buttons while the monitor is OFF, and then pressing the power button while still holding the others. Then let all button go at once. From there, hit the normal button that you use for getting into the OSD. In the OSD, there's usually a new field with all kinds of cool new settings to play with. One of them being a soft reset. You'll have to search the net for how to enter into your Factory service menu.

Oh wait! I know!
If your picture has moved to the right, move yourself accordingly.
So that now you and your picture will be aligned properly.
