Where is charging light on vx2100 - Sony Handycam DCR-VX2100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

The Sony Handycam DCR-VX2100 costs around $1,500-$3,000 depending on where you manage to purchase it. There are some resellers who are selling the camera for around $2,800 (including shipping and taxes) while at the same time, you can buy a brand new one from Amazon for $4,000. There's a seller on Amazon that is selling one for $1,200. The price varies greatly because of the camera model is a few years old.

firewire ic may have blown in back supply..check it at a service centre..

Can you find a replacement clip that secure the camera (VX2100) onto the tripot stand.

I also need a good powerful external recording mic for the same camera.

this problem is by the DD board of the camcorder their is a power ic in the DD board,which provides the supply to the camcorder.

I have successfully recorded to a mini Dv tape from my computer however I connected my PC to the VX2100 using the RCA inputs. I have an adapter that I purchased from best buy that provides the RCA input/output. If your able to connect that make sure to...

1. Turn you VX2100 to Play/Edit mode (not camera mode)
2. Insure the program on your mac has an external output otherwise you won't be able to record.
3. See if your video editing software (if your using one) has an option for record to tape or to camera. I use Vegas Studio and it has an option for that.

Make sure the write protect is switched off on the memory card, take the card out and unlock it, it will be at the side of the card like this .

battery is inside the handle... open the three top screws of the handle cover and remove the cover. you can view the batteries.. replace both of them with same type.

buy CRC electronic contact cleaner that is plastic safe from home depot in their lighting/electronics dept. spray into female steroe jack holding camera upside down with straw slightly inserted. Do not spray a whole lot. Then let dry a few seconds and then spray the CRC plastic safe multi purpose precision lubricant. just a little and then plug the male end into jack. You might want to hold camera upside as well since you do not want oily residue inside tape transport. Push in a couple times then remove. Wipe male end with clean paper towel and spray that end then re-insert. Put on headphones and check to see if the problem got fixed. Check that little round bolt that holds it (female stereo jack) into place and tighten if needed

in either case the head condition is bad.. pls inspect the tips on the head whether it is not damaged in the cleaning.inspect the drum hours also..
