Can you install and bring up the original software for this? It should have an option to "clean drum" for you. Otherwise it might be time to replace the toner.

Why does my Brother HL 3070CW keeps saying "drum error, clean corona wire on drum". I have cleaned all the corona wires, but still getting the same message.

You have to replace your drum with a new one. It has been worn out and cannot keep the primary charge, resulting poor image quality

I keep getting a message that says clean drum How do I fix?

The drum needs to be cleaned, this is common with laser printers.

It should be done by a professional as the drum may not be exposed to light for long.

Contact a Brother printer technician.

My DCP 7020 printer keeps saying dust on the drum. Clean the corona wire. I did this several times and keep getting the same message.

If you have a knowledge in disassembling the drum assembly unit then do it their you can see some other parts to be cleaned but be careful for these are sensitive parts.
Steps:Carefully remove the lock both ends, then pull it up and start cleaning inside using an artist brush you can also remove each parts inside if yuo want to individally clean and see to it no toner powder left in the dust collector and assemble again with extra care. Good luck
Note: Dont use brushin OPC drum, best soft cloth instead

My brother mfc-7840w printer keeps telling saying there is a drum error and will not print. i clean the corona wire and reset everything yet the same thing happens again and again. how do i fix this?

The drum is the photosensitive roller that the image is charged onto so I'm afraid cleaning the corona wire won't help. If the drum is removeable try reseating it, otherwise it looks like you may need to buy a new drum kit for it.

Brother not printing

Hi John, the machine keeps asking you to clean the corona wire because on start up or especialy when the machine readies it's self to start printing, it passes a voltage through the corona wire which helps the drum erase the charge on the organic photo compound the drum is covered in.
If the machine sees any problem with the transfer of this voltage it thinks there is a problem.
The corona wire can be cleaned by sliding the blue tab on the top of the drum from right to left a few times.
You should check to see if this wire is broken a very thin wire about the thickness of a human hair, if the wire is not broken then try cleaning the thin metal grid below the corona wire with a cotton bud , being carefull not to break the wire.
If this doesnt work then it sounds like the high voltage connection on the drum is faulty, and you will need to purchase a new drum ( or take it back to the supplier and say it is faulty and you want it replaced).
You ould also clean the surface of the drum itself carefully with a soft DRY clean cloth.
The only other cause is the high voltage supply pcb is faulty. Which if the machine is out of warranty is prohibitavely expensive to repair.

Hope this helps

I have cleaned the drum but my printer won't work because it keeps saying Dust on Drum. do I ned to replace the drum?

You need to run that blue tab back and forth about 20 times to clean the drum corona, use canned air and blow out the area below the blue tab on the drum, wipe the metal contacts on each side of the drum, and if all that fails, you do need a new drum.

Drum error keeps popping up, cleaned the corona wire and changed the toner.. still flashing. what now?

Hi, Sorry my english is poor, but i will try: you have to say to your machine that you change the drum, open the front end, and pull out the drum , and insert it, but before you close the front end, push the clear/back button, and answer yes,...thi is it :-)

Drum error

Yes, you should replace the drum unit if you have not done so. You may have a broken corona wire or drum. However, keep in mind that you will need to reset your machine after changing the drum unit. If after replacing, you still get the same error, you may have a problem with your machine properly sensing your drum unit.
