Laars Lite 2 Coversion to LP Gas

Does anyone know how to convert a "Laars Lite 2 Model Lg125N" pool heater from natural gas to LP gas.

The burner and pilot orfices will have to be changed. Also the gas valve has to be set up with a spring kit for lp gas. I purchased the orifices from Laar. and the Gas valve kit on E-bay for a honeywell valve.Laars wanted to sell a new gas valve but that's not necessary.

That involves changing out the complete burner tray including the igniter/pilot assembly, burners and the gas valve. It runs deep into the cost of a new heater, (well over $1000, not installed).

How do you determine if a pool heater runs on Natural gas or propane
It should say on the tag inside the cabinet, or on the gas valve. Another indicator is that natural gas typically is fed through a 3/4" galvanized pipe, LP is often run through a 1/2" copper pipe. Be sure before trying to fire it up.

Laars lite 2, mod-lg125n, sn. d03pj3400.
sounds like heat exch is plugged.remove top of unit and inspect for nests.could also be plugged with soot because of poor burner flame characteristics.with top off,turn htr on and look straight down into unit. you should be able to clearly see burner flames between fins. if not remove exchanger and clean

Switching from natural gas to lp gas
Get in contact with the appliance manfacter, ask them for a conversion kit and if it can be done they will send you out all you need. Obviously there will be a charge.
