I have a nostalgia electrics kegerator beer fridge in my garage, recently with cold temperatures in the garage the unit does not seem to be coming on at all. The temperature in the garage is typically around 40 deg, would that cold temperature keep the unit from running? Or may there be another issue? I have only had the unit for 4 months, worked perfectly until recently.

If the ambient temperature matches the temperature achieved through refrigeration, why would the refrigerator run? Is your beer cold?

Cooling issues

sounds like the thermostat. can you bypass it (ie connect the two wires together) and make it run all the time? If so, replace the thermostat

Kegerator no longer running cold

You need a new start device if your compressor is not running/pumping.That is the box on the side of the compressor .If you can put your hand on the compressor to make sure it (compressor) is than you have a Freon leak. The small line copper coming off the compressor should be between 75 & approximately 85 if its not ho you have Freon leak somewhere.

I have a danby kegerator and temp says 32 but a thermometer i put inside says 46 degrees!!! The beer is all foam and flat. We changed lines and checked the psi and co2.......all is fine. I havent heard...

If its 46 degrees that tells me compressor must be running. So what I would do first is unplug unit, locate compressor condenser coil & fan.Clean condenser coil with brush, air,or coil cleaner.plug back up wait & see.If still not cold enough needs freon.

Danby kegerator won't dispense beer

I also have a Danby Dkc146sldb. I tapped it full yesterday with a full CO2 Tank and dialed the psi to 10. I had a lot of foam even though it set for an entire day. The next night nothing came out. I played with tgeCO2 Again. I can hear gas going I but nothing coming out. I eventually got it working set itagain back to 12 psi (Bud light) and everything tasted fine. I increased the temperature a bit and today pulled the handle and once again nothing. This is very frustrating. Maybe I'm a dummy but can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I pulled the release on the coupler into the beer keg and there's definitely has gas coming out. Please tell me something that might solve this prolem . I'm running out of ideas. Shouod I remove omething from the lines of "rings" going into the beer keg? I keep reading things about removing guts or reversing the ring? I'm really confused.

The temp guage does not work and when the keg cooler is plugged in it gets down to 20 degrees and freezes the beer. Can this be fixed?

This solution probably costs more than you care to spend on the problem, but you can buy an external temp controller like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002EAL58
You run the probe into the fridge and plug the fridge into the controller. Then the controller will only turn on the fridge if it gets warmer than the temperature you specify.
You might be able to find it cheaper on ebay, too. I'm using this on a kegerator and can keep my beer at a consistent temp.

Have not used the kegerator for several years. Plugged it in and it immediately started getting cold. Then I unplugged it to move it and when I plugged it back in it does not get cold.

Check to see if any of the compressor electrical items came loose when moving.
I had this happen to a customer and he called someone else in who tried to sell him a new compressor.

Put in garage now unit will not keep cold or freeze.

Since refrigerators were designed to run in your 72° kitchen, when you put a fridge outside, where its colder than normal operating REFRIGERATOR temperatures, i.e. 35-40°F, because that ambient temp is colder than fridge temp, the thermostat in the fridge section reads it as normal temperature, and does not turn unit on. it does not read what the freezer temp is. You have a couple of choices: bring the unit inside, heat your garage, or only use it for pop and beer in the summer. You can reply here or send me a question from my website: www.FixMyFridge.net

Beverage-Air Kegerator Not Staying Cold

It can take a very long time to get a keg of beer down in temperature. The heat transfer from a keg is slow due to the lack of air circulation inside the keg. You should also check your condenser coils, make sure they are clean. Door gasket should also be in good repair. Hope this helps.
