Bought the new Vizio 55. None of the codes in the Dish list or the Vizio 3 digit codes (I called vizio to get the codes) will work with my dish 21.1 IR/UHF remote. Three different techs at dish tried to help and the final answer was the vizio 55 was incompatible with dish set-up.

The 004 code also worked on my Vizio 26" HDTV. I found that I had to be within 6 feet of the TV for the remote to work though. So be just a few feet in front of the TV when programming.

I am a Verizon tech and the remotes we use work for Vizio sets just fine. If for some reason the remote wont work and he tried 3 different ones then it has to be your set. I set FIOS up all day and have no trouble with those TVs

Since the flood of new models is great, your remote will never have the capability to control all brands and models. Vizio (like many others) is a very new name in the marketplace so if they did not choose to mimic the IR system of another, more wide-spread brand, you may never have a code set in proprietary remote such as yours (and mine from Dish Network). Even the 'learning' remote I bought will not accept the control signals from the lousy Ilo we own either. Your provider, DirecTV may have some newly developed partially effective code sets so check the support section of their website.

This could be a mainboard problem. Sometimes one of the fuses may be bad and may freeze up causing the TV to not be able to power off.
