HiI have a Toshiba Satellite M35-s456 with GoNvidia G-Force 5200 video card that I think need to replace because the screen has a lots of stripes and the device manager shows a problem with the graphics card. I tied many times to reinstall it, and find a better driver but still does not help. If any one could help me, please do so. Thanks. Zoltan
To determine if your video card is faulty, connect an external monitor to the laptop, power up the monitor first and then the laptop.
The video data will automatically switch to the external monitor and if you see a normal image then the video card is OK and the fault maybe the video cable, it may need reseating.
If the image still has the strips, the same as the LCD screen then the fault is most likely the video card or video RAM..
On some laptops video RAM uses part of the main memory modules, reseat the RAM modules and if this doesn't fix the problem then the fault is the video card. This very difficult be fixed becaused it is part of the motherboard.
