I solved it this way:

  1. Find the "CDLabelPrint.exe"most likely under "C:\Program Files\CD-LabelPrint"
  2. Right-Click on the File and choose Properties
  3. Select "Compatibility" and tick "Run Program ... Windows XP (SP3)"
  4. Push "OK"
  5. You should be fine now

I am continually receiving an error message when I try to open Print Shop 22 - either Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission or Could not...

have there been any operating system changes ? like moving from xp to vista ? this would be a simple upgrade if that was the case , has your product id expired ? i'd go to the manufacturers site if none of the above has changed and see if they still support the software ?

Dvd/cd tray same problem as others posted here

My experience (with the R280) MAY have some relevance. It turns out that, should you turn the printer power on WHILE the output tray is in the upper (DVD/CD) position, you get an undocumented pattern of error lights, error message, and no ability to print. The cure (for the R280) is: just move the tray to the lower position and leave it there long enough for the printer to complete its power-up cycle and initialization, after which the green POWER light will be solidly on. Then you can shift the tray to the upper position for DVDs, or go ahead and print on paper where it is. Epson "technical" "support" people all deny that this is the way it works, and they want me to return the printer for replacement. I have confirmed the behavior on TWO different R280s. They also deny that their CD-Label software scatters "CDLabel.alb" files whenever you load a photograph as background, but that's another issue, and fortunately non-fatal.

Printer

A support tech at Canon suggested I try this.

find the file ImageCache.ic - I found it in application data folder in My Documents, delete it.

Uninstall CD Label Print, search for any other "CD Label Print" files or folders and delete them too.

Re-boot and re-install CD Label Print.

This worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

Cheers
