Just Select you model by MFC-420CN press VIEW DOWNLOAD

You will another page..
Select DRIVERS
Below that
Select Your Operating Systme
and Language
Press Search
Then Click More Information Link
You will get Download icon
Just Click that.. Press I Accept

Download and Install

Please uninstall all drivers and software related to printer. Detach printer from computer connection.

Install drivers and software without the printer connected.

Restart computer and connect printer.

for the vista drivers for the 240c I have the same unit good stuff download the Full Driver & Software Package

The CD probably contains XP drivers. Make sure you unistall the software.

Then use these drivers:

Since the printer is working the drivers are installed correctly. The drivers help the computer recognize and operate your printer. The error that you are recieving is from the program called MFL Pro Suite. If you still have the CD you can reinstall the software and this error should go away. On the Brother Wesbsite:

Select the downloads link.


When searching for your download

Step 1:
make sure you have "ALL" selected

Step 2 and 3 are self explanatory

Hit the search button and then you are looking for the download that says "full software and driver package".

Install as directed.

Are you using vista or xp?, download correct version of full driver and software package from brother web and reinstall after unistalling previous attemps (there is uninstall tool on brothers web as well)

Disconnect printer untill software asks to connect.
