Your frustration is common because the new tanks all have a safety feature built into them which is a pain in the you know what. Unscrew the tank to reset the safety valve and then screw it in again. That should result in the valve being in the open position and working for you.

blue flame? if flame is not blue, then air gap needs adjusting. if blue flame and burner control is on high, then could be your regulator. (assuming tank if full)

Bought this grill in june/july. first tank worked perfect. tank went out while cooking. changed to new tank and lit her up. low flame and went out. looked at tank and found the valve and hose covered...

turn off gas at tank remove hose let it deforst , open all burners on bbq run out gas in line , turn off burners, reconnect tank turn on slow , check hose for leaks with washing up liqued and water mix make bubbles with this mix and brush over joints this will prove if you have a gas leak (hence the frosting ) if this is good no leak then you should be able to light burners , if this leaks then it could be a new hose.

I used our bbq a couple days ago and it was fine, now I am not getting a flame to any part of the bbq. Tried different tanks, still nothing. Do you have any ideas as to what it might be?

Betty, to solve this problem, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling.

I have a Weber gas grill, and I just replaced the propane tank, yet when I ignite it on the Start/High setting, very little flame is produced. This is the first time in 5 years or so that I've...

Don't worry, you'll be grilling in no time, if you follow these instructions:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF.

2. Disconnect the grill's hose from the propane tank and wait 5 minutes.

3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank's gas valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow).

Once the valve is fully open light one burner and turn it to HIGH. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light the remaining burner and turn it to HIGH. Do both flame heights look normal?
If so, you solve the problem! Remember to always turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Low flame. less than 1/4 inch high. Solution? Tried disconnecting/reconnecting hose to tank. Very little change in flame from low to high.

After you disconnect the hose from the tank, wait 5 minutes before reconnecting it. Then turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open. Light the burner and turn it to it's highest setting. Did the flame height return to normal? I f so, problem solved. If it didn't remove and clean the burner and the venturi valve, Spiders like to build nest in them. If after all of this, the flame height still hasn't returned to normal and you're sure you have a good amount of gas in the tank. You'll need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can find one at any home center or hardware store that sell gas grills and accessories. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this time, Your problem was solved. Happy Grilling!!

Won't light properly or vary the flame

Hello,
You're probably turning the LP tank valve on too fast. Close the tank valve, disconnect it and reconnect it. Then very slowly turn on the tank valve. Make sure all your grill knobs are closed. Light one at a time and turn to low setting. After they are all lit, slowly turn up the heat on each as needed. Hope this helps. Douglas
