Whirlpool refrigerator leaking from top of unit

Whirlpool refrigerator model # ET22RKXGX02; This is a top mount with the freezer on top. I have a problem with water filling up in the refrigerator and it looks like it is coming from the freezer in the back, inside of the unit. This is driving my wife crazy. Any help out there?

Listened to other posts and figured drain plug was clogged. It was with ice. Removed bottom pan and back panel of freezer, removed ice on bottom, put hot water in drain to thaw ice until it flowed into pan underneath fridge. Thanks for the ideas.

Leaking inside back of refrig

If this is a top mount refrigerator (freezer on top), more than likely the drain is frozen. Try defrosting the unit for 24 hrs.

My fridge is leaking water from the top shelf down to the bottom and onto the floor

You most likely have a clogged defrost drain tube in the freezer, this diverts water through the damper into the fridge section in units with the freezer on top... Remove the back wall of the freezer and look beneath the tubing and you will see an ice pad... Use a turkey baster and warm water to reveal the drain hole, then force warm water down it until it is clear... Have some towels handy. Whirlpool Refrigerator Drain Strap 819043

Water is leaking from under the freezer into the refrigerator section, Is there an easy fix for this.

This is a common problem found with that model. Link below shows you how to solve it. It appears with what you said is the water is coming from the freezer compartment. If so then it can come from 2 things. A frozen defrost/cogged drain or your ice maker is leaking. Let me know how to refine your problem closer. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The drain is clogged up. Check the clear plastic line that goes from the back to the drip pan on the bottom of the unit.

Water from the melted evaporator frost is normally drained down to a pan mounted on the compressor . The heat from the compressor is normally enough to vaporize this water. Sometimes the evaporation may be reduced due to- high humidity (in the kitchen). Try keeping the exhaust fan on for a while. Also check if the drain line is blocked or shifted out of the drain pan.
