Sounds like the 4th burner is bad. Try lighting one other and then #4 do you have the same problem? Just 4? if yes burners do go bad they should have quite a bit of back pressure but as they corrode the jets will open and dump gas or the line may have failed dumping gas and that results in pressure drop in the others to the point that they won't light. Sounds like the pressure regulator is malfunctioning. Try disconnecting your gas line. Open/Close all burners then reconnecting gas. If propane, don't turn bottle off before burners. Always turn burners off first, then bottle. then bottle on before burners. This primes the regulator to the proper pressure.
Sean, It sounds like a gas pressure problem, that may be easy to resolve.
1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait five minutes.
3. After 5 minutes, reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow).
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Does the Flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the exact same way. Now, did all the remaining burners light and the flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem. Remember, always turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.
If that did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator assembly. You can purchase one for about $30,00 from any home improvement center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. Take your old one with you for comparison purposes.
Hope the helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!
Mike, there can be some pressure problems, but it's not the new tank. However, it does cause the problem and here's how you resolve it.
1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF. 2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. 3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). 4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the burn to HIGH. Does the burner light and the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the burner flames look as the should? If co, you solved the problem. Always remember to turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly>
If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can pick one up at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. It will run you about $30.00 (+/-) .
Hope this helped you to solve the problem Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!

Hi,
You problem could be or probably is with the regulator...not enough gas
pressure...
Check that the fourth burner tube is set properly into the unit. Then turn all burners off, turn off the natural gas supply or remove the LP tank. turn all the burners on (don't try to light) wait a couple seconds turn all burners off. reconnect gas source. turn on gas, open burners fully and try to light.
does the same burner flame turn blue if other burners decreast in flow-with that burner on high and others low-is it still yellow? if so Gas Valve needs to be replaced.
There is a safety device that shuts the gas off or nearly off if there is insufficient back pressure, such as can be caused by a leak. Check to insure that all of your new burners are properly seated.
to find out if the regulator is good or bad, turn any of the burners that do not have the problem, one at a time but take a close look at the flame and see if the flame goes lower and lower as you turn a second burner and a third and the fourth one, if the flame goes lower and lower the regulator is bad. but if the problem is with just the grill one , it has to much air, you can turned down the air where the burner meets the valve that supplies gas to it the burner has a vent, it needs to be close a little bit, you can close it little by little and testing the burner on the on position until the splutter goes away.
