No water/steam coming out of wand

Saeco Vienna Plus - only had it 30 days. Was working great. All of a sudden - no water or steam coming out of wand. It tries, but then after some soft "clunking," the red light comes on. No changes to settings. Wand is not blocked. The water did not run low. She just decided not to work. Is there something simple I'm not thinking of? :-(

Hi there,
do you hear the pump running when you ask for water or steam? You should hear the pump continuously when you ask for hot water, and intermittently when the steam is dispensed.
No hot water or no steam could come from many causes:
valve not working or not actuated (control board), and also the switch that closes when the water knob is turned may be defective.
Do you hear that switch clicking when you open the water knob?
Difficult to help further with so little behaviour information.
Good luck,
M.

SOURCE: Grinds beans, won't dispense water sometimes

I just had this problem. I took apart the brew chamber and cleaned under the screens and everything else I could get to along the path of the water. These areas were completely filled with gum residue and solids. I'm guessing that when they dry out, the water can pass through for a little bit. After a cup or two, they go back to blocking off the water flow.

Hi, My Saeco Vienna isn't working so great. When I start it up, it makes no brew-group movements and the red light goes on, as well as the water light. Both are displaying solid lights. it won't go in

If every component is in it's correct position and the brew group makes no or very little movement upon start up, it means the 33v DC converter on the CPU is probably bad and the board will need to be replaced. Or, one of the microswitches in the gearbox could also be broken or malfunctioning. Either way, with the symptoms you've described, I believe you will need to have the machine serviced by a Saeco Certified technician. The repair should cost between $175 - $225 unless there are multiple issues.

Notice if you can hear the pump when you are opening for steam. If you dont hear it ther is a problem at the switch. If you hear it then the tube is just blocked with milk.

Steam wand on Vienna plus detached from arm

Lets first make sure you have all the parnello wand parts. The nut, hard plastic gasket, soft rubber gasket, the inner wand then the sleeve and the center in the sleeve. When putting it back together find the notch on the metal steam wand and slide the nut onto the wand, then add the rest in the order above.

Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines (HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent.
1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results).
2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution.
3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes.
4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes.
Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through.
5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty!
6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.

The steam / hot water function on my saeco Vspresso does not work. It has intermittently worked in the 10 months I've had the machine, but I can't descale without this function. any ideas? I turn it on...

First check to make sure that the end of the steam spout is not blocked, use a paperclip. If you machine has a parnello on the wand check to make sure that the holes on that are not blocked also. If those are clear, then when running the hot water cycle push in knob if that works the the tap rod assembly on the steam valve needs to be replaced.

Sounds like you might need a new steam boiler, or you may have a fuse that is blown for the steam boiler.

Saeco Vienna Digital De Luxe Espresso Machine

sounds like there maybe a vapor lock problem... where there is a problem with the hosing... or vaccuum-like mechanics inside of the machine... Perhaps even there is "gunk" or milk stuck in the steam wand. you have a few options... get a milk pitcher that reaches almost to the top of the steam wand and fill it with ice and water. Allow it to soak for a period of time until, say, there is a decent amount of condensation that has gathered on the outside of the cup. then clean the inside with something that can reach and is non-abbrasive... *a straw may work* clean it out manually... then soak again. try opening the steam wand again and let it steam in the water... if it's not working... preform a cleaning cycle... and include a 'smigin' 1tsp. or 1 tbsp. of vinegar in the water resevior. and let it run all the water through the steam wand... if possible. if it is still posing a problem definantly contact warranty services... or seek a saeco tech in your neck of the woods!
hope this helped!

Steamer does not work

Your steam wand is probably clogged with milk. Remove the panarello outside and stick a paper clip up the tube. Then try to run water out of the steam wand.

Hope this helps!
