If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

My 8 gb sansa

Does the charging sign show up? It could be a bad cable. Also make sure you have the right software You can get it here at: http://www.sandisk.com/sansa
Go to Support\product support\sansa view\ thenlook in the right column

Try it with different usb ports as well.
Go to Device Manager and look for "?'s" or "!'s"

Open My Computer Open 'Sansa', If you can view your files; you can drag new ones in.

If that didn't help reply with more info

Good luck, please rate.
