Laptop turns off when charger is plugged in !!

case in point my poor neighbor called GEEKSxxxxd and they charged her $300 to tighten the VGA jack. (Imagine fixing hard cases)??????? bust a VISA ? Cap it?

leave it unplugged for like ten minutes from the wall and computer

you can purchase a usb device with TV outputs. look on ebay or purchase one from your local PC retail shop.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case. 1.first shut down the comp 2.unplug the charger 3. remove the battery and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery.After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .
and if this doesn't help
then try to take out the ram or memory chip from the computer and place it back.

Basically I had the same problem but gotit fixed today...All you need to do is to look on the back of your laptop and check out the model no. as sometimes the model no. thats being displayed on the screen may not be correct..In my case it was written as HP Pavillion dv1000 but in reality it was HP Pavillion dv1520..

It is indicating battery low. Power is not passing to laptop check power card or adopter....

may be two things 1. your powersupply unit is gone or 2. your motherboard

plug in the power adapter, make sure the battery is installed firmly, let it run for 6 to 10 hours..hopefully the battery, installed under the unit, will be fresh enough to accept a recharge cycle.

got backup for that computer?
