Avoiding the greeting message

How can callers avoid my message if they don't want to listen to it? can they choose a number to skip message when they call? I am sure that I lose business when they have to listen to the message before leaving theirs. Can I provide an option number for them to press to skip the message? I run a small business and don't want to irritate my client.  if this won't work for this unit uniden power max 5,8 does anyone have a suggestion on what anwering machine to buy that provides this option?
Thank you. Nancy

They need to hear the message if they are calling for the first time. They want to skip the message when they have heard it numerous times and just want to leave a message. I need to have an option for them to listen to it in case they forgot the hours, days or time our office is open. Thanks for trying but not having a greeting on my business phone is not an option.

As I said before, I need a message on my office phone- not having a greeting on my business phone is not an option. I have tried hitting the star and the pound signs and this does not work. Any other ideas?

  • speech Oct 24, 2007

why would I want callers to hear my messages?  I want to listen to my messages, not them.  If I allowed anyone to access my messages it would be an invasion of pravacy for all my clients. This is a crazy response to my question and has nothing to do with the stated problem. While I appreciate the time you took to go through the manual I have already done this and posted this question becuase the manual did not have a solution in it.  I thought some technical people out there may have a solution or know of a device that allowed this option that I could purchase for my business. Apparently no one but you is interested in the question and I am not buying the premium service!  Thanks but unless you actually have a solution please don't answer. Thanks.

Why not record a 1 second of silence instead of the standard greetings and have them "jump" straight to leaving a message.

Have you tried pressing # ?

  • Anonymous Oct 24, 2007

I just gone through the manual. Your callers cannot skip the greeting, but can only hear messages remotely by pressing 0 following your 2 figures pin number (see menu->ans. setup->security code to see what it is)

I was just presenting you with all the options this phone has. Good luck finding a solution.

I have a tracphone. How do I clear my voicemail box? No messages can be left on my voicemail. Thank you.

Delete voice mail by going through the keypad on your cell phone. The actual procedure depends on the kind of cell phone that you own. For example, on the Nokia 1100, hold down the "1" key while you are on standby. Tracfone connects you to your voicemail, where you can follow spoken menu instructions to listen to your voicemail. After you hear the voice message, you're asked if you want to delete your recordings.

This is not recommended, because connecting in this way uses up your minutes even if you just want to listen to them.

Use your landline phone to delete messages if you want to avoid using your Tracfone minutes. Turn off your cell phone so it doesn't ring and then call your cell phone number from a landline.

Press the "*" (star) key as soon as you hear your voice mail greeting. Then enter your password number and press the "#" (pound) key.

Listen to the instructions for accessing your voice mail, which can vary slightly depending on the phone you have. You are told the number of new and old messages you have, how to listen to them and how to store or delete them. Press the number for listening to the message to hear it, and then the number for deleting.

How do i autoreject number on my sony ericcson wti9

Blocking incoming calls on your Sony Ericsson phone is pretty simple. You can go to your service provider's website and follow the instructions they have for call blocking. They will usually tell you how to block specific calls or all incoming calls. You will most likely find a way to even block incoming text messages. This is very convenient if you don't won't to be bothered, but you don't want to miss a possibly important call either. Luckily, with a Sony Ericsson, you don't even have to go to your service provider's Web site to block incoming calls. You can do it through your phone's menu.
    • 1 Flip open your cell phone and go to the phone's menu.
    • 2 Select "Settings" and scroll down to "Calls."
    • 3 Select "Manage Calls" and then choose "Accept Calls."
    • 4 Choose to accept "All Calls," "Calls from a list" or "None." If you choose to accept calls from a list, you will have to create your list of accepted callers. This is easy. You will just scroll through your contacts and select numbers you want to accept.

THE ANSWERING SERVICE CUTS IN BEFORE I AM ABLE TO GET TO THE PHONE

There should be a switch towards the bottom on the right hand side
Setting ring time switch The ring time/toll saver switch allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before the answering system plays your outgoing message. You can set the switch to answer af ter two rings or af ter four rings. Once the greeting has star ted, you can stop it when you pick up the call at the handset or base. In the TS (Toll Saver) position, the answering system picks up af ter two rings if you have new messages, and af ter four rings if there is none. This way, if you call long distance to check your messages, you can hang up af ter the third ring to avoid billing charges.

Change voice mail message from one person to another person

Step 1 Lift the handset for your telephone and listen for the dial tone. Dial the access code you were given by Verizon when you signed up for residential telephone service. Dialing the access code will call the voicemail system. If you do not have an access code, you will need to call Verizon Customer Servicemag-glass_10x10.gif (see link in Resources).
  • Step 2 Identify the telephone number you are setting up voicemail services for. If you are calling from that telephone number, enter the temporary passcode and then press "#." The temporary passcode is the last 4 digits of your residential telephone number. If you are calling from a different phone, press "*" when the system greeting starts to play, then enter the 10-digit telephone number when prompted. After this, you will be asked to input the temporary passcode.
  • Step 3 Choose a new passcode. The passcode must be from 4 to 8 digits in length. It should be easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess. Do not use easy to guess numbers, such as 1234 or 1111. Also do not re-enter the same temporary passcode, since it will be easy for anyone to guess.
  • Step 4 Record your name. Simply say your name, without a long complicated message. This recording is used by the voicemail system to identify you whenever you forward a message to another user. It is not used as the standard greeting when a caller is directed to your voicemail to leave a message.
  • Step 5 Record or change your personal greeting. This greeting is played any time someone reaches your voicemail box. Record a friendly greeting to announce that you are unavailable and will return all calls upon your return.
Decide if you want to set up a different mailbox for each family member. Verizon residential telephone service allows you to set up multiple mailboxes so that everyone can have his own private message center. Callers who reach voicemail will be prompted to press "1" to leave a message for one person, press "2" for the next person, and so on.
  • Step 6 Hang up the telephone. When you have finished setting up the voicemail system on your Verizon residential phone line, hang up the phone to end the call and exit the voicemail system.

    Message Greeting

The KX-T7456 is a proprietary system phone. You have a Panasonic phone system and a voice mail, both separate items with their own part number. Your phone can work on several different systems and use different voice mail so your first step is to determine the part numbers from the system and voice mail. Then you will need a "programming" manual or possibly "administrator's manual" NOT a "user guide" for at least your voice mail and maybe for the system as well.
