Need ground wire for Technics SL 8210 turntable

All parts are discontinued for this model. The SL1200MK2 dust cover will not fit this turntable. You can actually have a dust cover made rather simply and cheaply (depending on where you live). Just take the dimensions to a PLEXIGLASS or even a GLASS shop. You can even purchase the Plexiglass yourself, cut it, and glue it together. I would suggest getting it professionally done. You can use any high impact plexiglass. Get something that is resistant to scratches and discoloring.

SOURCE: what all can I attach a turntable ground wire to?

Connecting to another piece of equipment besides the mixer introduces the possibility of creating a ground loop, which, of course, is not desirable.

Just make a splice using Stakons (crimper). Just cut off the existing connector and crimp a (red) round crimp to the existing ground wire. Then take a length of same gauge and crimp a round a (red) spade Stakon on the other end. Then take a nut and bolt and connect the 2 round connectors and tape with good black tape (Scotch 33 or similar). That will get you through the Gig.

You will need 2 belts, if the turntable belt is gone the other is not far behind . One for the turntable size 23.6 inch by .188 and one for the tracking motor that is in the top cover part, is a 3.0 inch by .046 belt. best place to get them is at kenselectronics.com part numbers 1407-201 and AV-SBS3.0 if you have been checking around you will see other sizes, I have a SL-J1 and have used these and they work perfectly.

I have found out that the female phono plugs on the turntable are sensative and have to have a solid connection and often adjusted from time to time to eliminate the 60 cycle hum.
