Blue screen on TRV 260 playback

I have Sony Handycam TRV 260. Last week it started giving message about dirty head. So I tried to clean the video head using nail polish remover solution and a ear-bud. After this, now the handycam doesn't play at all. When I try to playback, it just shows blank blue screen. Can anybody help? Thanks. /Hemant

    Never use nail polish remover and cotton bud to clean video head as its best combination to break video head terminals.
    Always use Sony Video-8 head cleaning tape that available in stores.

Blue screen on TRV260 playback

TRV260 nail-polish head attack:
eek.
Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.

Will not playback tapes

a sony cleaning cassette may clear the gunk from your friend ' s possibly ? bad tapes ( do not rewind it - or the gunk will be redeposited ) ; if still no video , get an estimate to have your heads and guides cleaned . . . professionally ;

Cannot playback hi8 ccd trv107e pal

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

Playback

if the camera is going on in the play mode and you are getting a blue screen with play indicator it is mostly due to dirty head. what have you used for cleaning the head. take the help of repairer for cleaning as he will do so after opening the cover. if that doesent solves the problem then get the video head checked for any damages such as broken tips.

Camcorder

if all the indicators i.e. battery condition, play mark, counter, etc are visible on the screen then it can be a simple problem of dirty video head. try using a head cleaning cassette or do the head cleaning manually, Open the cover by removing three screws on the right hand side next to the viewfinder. Slide it little towards front and pick it up. The video head will be visible.
