Webcam problem Everytime I try to take a photo of me with my built in crystal eye camera (on my acer laptop), it won't let me or a box comes up saying, ' This application has failed to start because Image.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem. {OK}' So I click OK and then another box comes up saying, 'Acer Crystal Eye Webacam has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. {Close program) So I click it and nothing is happerning. What am I going to do? :/

Crystal Eye is a webcam application included with some Acer laptops.
Laptops that have the Crystal Eye WebCam application installed also have a camera built in to the monitor.
Crystal Eye can adjust the camera's brightness, contrast and color intensity, and capture photos.
If you removed the Crystal Eye WebCam application from your Acer laptop on accident, you can download the software from the Acer website and reinstall the application to your PC.

Click "Start." Click "Control Panel." Input "device" into the search box. Click "Device Manager."
Expand "Imaging Devices."
Double-click the Web camera to find the name of the manufacturer.
Go to Acer Support.
Select "Notebook" from the "Select Your Product" menu.

right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp

The oiriginal Acer webcam was providied by the manufacturer as a software program to be used by microsoft! After the warranty expired, I installed windows 7 and the camera disappeared! What does that tell ya!

Try reinstalling your camera driver and application program.

There is built in Acer Integrated Acer Crystal Eye webcam in your laptop.

Probably you have software disc who came with laptop in that disc you have software for webcam (Acer Crystal Eye)

If you don't have a crystal eye webcam shortcut on your desktop then do the following:

•Click Start (lower left-hand of screen)
•Select Run
•Copy and paste this in the Run window (include quotation marks):
"C:\Program Files\ACER Crystal Eye webcam\Acer Crystal Eye webcam.exe"
•Click ok

The Crystal Eye webcam will become activated

You can go to the manufacturers website to check if you have the very latest driver for your webcam. if not, you should be able to download it from there.

Go to control panel, then system properties, then device manager, then hardware. check imaging devices to see if your webcam is recognized.

yeah sure it is made for that purpose for video conf and picture taking just go to start>all programs>Acer Crystal Eye folder u will find the icon there just make a shortcut from there to ur desktop if u dont find it there then just go to "C:\Windows\Acer Crystal Eye Webcam.exe"

otherwise ur webcam utility is not installed just download the utility from

if ur drivers are updated from www.acer.com then u should look into settings of yahoo messenger and select and test ur camera but these settings will only work when u are online try if it helps check ur camera if it works somewhere else

Make sure that another webcam application isn't running such as Crystal Eye or whatever program you use to take pictures with the webcam.
