Hi.If you have a Nvidia Graficcard, it could be it.overheating problem at the motherboard.you need 2 replace motherboard, or reflow, reball graficchip.it's a common problem at Nvidia 6XXX, 7XXX, 8XXX model grafics..

if you are using the computer then you have to change the vga cable

Try changing its screen resolution to a higher refresh rate.

1. It smees your LCD is faulty.
2. connect your laptop to a external monitor. Check if lines are visible or not.
3. if no line are visible then need to change your LCD.
4. for changing better to contact service centre.
5. you can look for used LCD, which will be cheap.

Move the screen around while on, do the lines disappear when you hold it in certain positions? If so, your LCD needs to be replace. If the lines don't disappear when bending the screen, it could be a broken motherboard as well. Youcan try to open the laptop and check the dc connection. try running a powerfull anti-virus.

back up everithing in your hard drive (image file if u can) and recovery CD so u reset it to factory defaults. if it's still getting worse. go to a repair store, monitor or video bus is malfuncioning.

I have a laptop that has been doing exactly the same. It started off with a fine pink line. After almost a year it now has gotten wider and has white lines and all other colours. It could work like that for quite a long period. It is a conection in the bottom of the screen but is so delicate... Only way to REALLY fix it is to have the screen replaced which could be quite an expensive thing to do

The graphics part of the laptop is going out. Recommend just replacing the laptop, it would be cheaper.
