Moniter problems my moniter keeps flashing up with with the moniter settings and i cant get it to go. the only ay is to turn it of and back on but it just comes back up. i thought it was a button stuck but it's not and i cant think what else it is. plz help

The monitor settings keep popping up on the screen and it looks like it is scrolling through the setting options. Sometimes the on/off button works, sometimes not. The other buttons have little or no effect. It just started to happen. I haven't changed anything on the computer; no downloads, updates, etc. I would really prefer not to go and buy another monitor if there is a simple solution. Thanks! Turned on, everything else works fine except the "brightness" window appears to be glued to the screen behind it all works well, Initially thought it was a stuck button have tried everything I know to clear it.
