Need belt sizes

The best is to take a thick thread - the size of the belt and place it around the flywheel- capstan and the motor pulley. Now take the correct length of this loop and buy a belt with a fraction of size smaller than the thread loop.
The belt size must be just correct to be tight around the pulley and capstan.

My Sony CFD-S250 tape drive belts are brittled. Do you have the actual sizes if them. They measyred about 5 to 5.5 inches while they are too loose.

The original Sony belts have been discontinued so sizing will have to be done off the originals. I usually allow for about 3% stretch. But accuracy is important when dealing with belts this small. The difference between 5 inches and 5.5 inches is 10% of the overall length and can be a deal breaker. Also, the thickness of the belt must be measured before matching to an aftermarket belt. A little more and more accurate info will be needed to see this one through.

CD Rom drawers do not open or close, drive belts have popped out

Unfortunatly, these belts are not availible for consumer purchase and, most service centers will just replace the entire device. i have used regular rubber bands that are identical in size to run many rom drives. this method seems to work just fine.

Its very unfortunate when these original belts break and, there is no replacment belt on the market. the only option is to purchae a store bought rubber band that matches the same size as the broken original band. this will work.

Streched CD drive belt

turntableneedles.com has about 450 belt sizes in stock. your unit is too new to have this listing yet as the belt should not have failed already so when you call be ready with the length of the old belt. Don't worry that it is stretched, a new size will be calculated that is about 3-5% shorter.

CD player not working

CD Player on my Bose Wave radio/cd just blinks CD and it appears to me that the disc is not spinning. This is the same problem that many others have already identified. I unplugged the unit and removed the battery but this did not solve the problem. I notice that there is a "platter" (part of the lid) that sandwiches the cd onto the spindle. the platter seems tight but does turn. Also, does anyone know if there is a drive belt that may have broken?
