Paper jam ,no paper jam found Dell 1815dn

I need part # for pick-up roller and sep. pad on paper tray. Keeps saying paper jam even though there's no paper jam. If you take rollers out then put the back in it'll print 1-2 pages off then state printer jam again. I think if I can replace the rollers it should be ok????

Give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

My Dell 1110 laser jet printer begins to pick up a sheet of paper, but then stops just as the paper turns up with the roller. This will happen several times before the printer actually picks up the...

85% of paper jams are caused by worn rollers . The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease. If you plan to keep your printer,

Replace the pick-up and feed rollers.

Metal Tab Separation- Pull out your paper tray and examine either end where the paper sits in. If any of the corners are held down by metal tabs, this is your paper feed system. Chances are, you only have one rubber roller or one set of rollers arranged along side of each other. Reach in where the tray goes and feel up. You should feel some rollers. They might be completely round, or they might be shaped like a half moon. Clean whichever part of them you can with the solution, and this should stop your paper jams. It might be necessary to turn them, but don't force them if they don't move freely.

Pickup Roller and Separation Pad-

If your printer uses this paper feed system, you should see a small piece of flat or slightly curved rubber or cork. It would be towards the end of the paper tray, or deep inside the paper loading cavity on top loaders. This 'separation pad' rubs against the paper feed roller, so if you find the pad, you've found the roller. Clean it and your jams should stop.

Three Roller Paper Separation System- Pull your paper tray out, and look for a roller on either end of it. If you find one, clean it. Then look inside the printer where that roller would rest with the paper tray inserted. You'll find another paper roller there. Clean this one also. Finally, look further back or closer to the front of your printer (depending on which way your paper feeds) to find another roller or set of rollers. Clean all of these, and your paper jams will go away.

Have a dell 1110 printer that will not pick up paper. Roller has been cleaned of dust with alcohol pad

You may want to try looking at the rollers through the back of the printer when it tries picking up paper. Look and try to see if the roller assembly is even turning the rollers. If that works fine and you can see the rollers trying to push the paper into the paper path, there may be something blocking the paper from going through. Pull the paper tray out and inspect it for any damaged or missing parts. Then look on the underside of the printer where the paper path begins. Chances are there is just some jammed paper keeping any more pages from going through. If the rollers have been cleaned they could just be worn out and need replacing. Contact Dell tech support if you can't fix it yourself or need any parts.

Hi My Dell Laser 1815 is having a paper jam problem each time it tries to load the paper from the tray.

The paper tray itself is probably missing a small peice. Look towards the front of the tray... there is a guide (about 2" wide) that, if you push down, it springs back and forth. My tray was missing a small peice of flat metal that popped off. The feed roller rests on this piece when the tray is loaded. If the piece is missing, then the roller is to close and the paper cannot make it through into the printer. Still looking for the part number....

NP6050 false paper jam

Can you see the paper pick-up rollers try to move and pick-up the paper? Or can you hear it make noise? Also, is the problem in paper tray 1? You may have to adjust or reform a inter lock arm on the right side door. If you push the back part of the right top door closer, will it feed the paper? If so there is adjustments for the door and look for a bent Tab on the hing part of the top door about half way up. Just a note have the paper pick-up & paper feed and paper sep rollers been replaced?

Paper not feeding

The Dell 3000cn & 3010CN both display this fault.

The root cause of the problem is the Rubber pads of the feed roller in the paper tray become warn and fail to grip the paper the paper feeds a few millimetres and then is let go by the worn roller, the paper path sensors pick this up and then a paper jam is notified.

The only remedy for this problem is to obtain a new feed roller for the paper tray mechanism. Unfortunately dell in the UK do not sell maintenance kits to the public, and therefor ehte only place I found them wa on Ebay in the USA.

The kit in quetsion is the vertical paper feed maintenance kit. it costs around $50 plus shipping.

The only other option is to have a Dell approved service agent replace the rollers for you.

If you hear a grinding or cruching noise when paper is fed, then one of the mini plastic guide rollers had detached itself from its position and wound up in the tape path mechanism (very expensive repair)

Paper Jam

We need to the model/make to help you

but using some detective skills I've decided you are using a HP machine

Yup Dirty damaged worn feed roller but what model machine is it they are all different but pull out tray 2 cassette all the way and look in, there is probally a cylinder like rubber roller 5cm wide front centre of where cassette slides in, there might be roller on the cassette too at the front center as well.

Most modern printers feed rollers just slide off after lifting small plastic tabs on them and gently pulling, feed rollers are available but you can sometimes also get results by cleaning them with a dash of metho or water on a rag.

If paper feeds 2wo sheets at once then you need to change the seperation pad/roller too.

Dell printer problem

Sounds like you may need to replace the pick up rollers on the machine.  Without knowing exactly where the jam error happens during the print process, it's hard to say.
