Microsoft producer for powerpoint is a free download from microsoft.  It lets you align slides and music along a timeline so the slides appear when you want them to in the song.

Hi Fousy,
to add music to your Presentations, go to the SlideShow, Transitions. below the list of transitions, is a section where you can selec the 'sounds' you would like to insert. go down with that list, and select OTHER, choose from your music folder/file, and insert the sound. right-click on this new inserted sound, and select EFFECT, choose the slides "FROM" and "TO" for the music.
If you need more detailed info, please let me know.
Regard
DeltaC

Add Variety

Click "Add Variety" under the currently playing station. Type in the name of another artist, track or composer you like and we'll add music with musical qualities to the station.

You can always remove the variety you have added by editing your stations.

Tips to improve stations

We want all our listeners to get the most from their Pandora experience as they discover and enjoy music they love. In that spirit, here's a few things we've come up with to get your stations playing great songs without relying too heavily on skipping tracks.

1. Make a fresh station: Sometimes the best thing to do is simply start over with a fresh station based on a different starting point, such as a related artist or one of your favorite Thumbed up songs. Note you can always bring a station back (with all your Seeds and Thumbs intact) by re-adding it.

2. Thumb freely: Thumb ratings tell us everything about the kinds of music you want to hear. If you have a reaction to a song, let us know! This will give us a better idea of what to play next. Keep in mind, Thumbing down a track counts as a skip.

3. Review your station: When stations are playing songs wildly out of place, or songs that aren't fitting within that station's sound, you should check your station details and edit any Thumb ratings or Seeds that may be adversely affecting the playlist.

4. Switch it up: Don't be afraid to make changes. If your station is repetitive, first try our Add Variety feature. If you get sick of a track but don't want to completely ban it, you can also put it on the shelf for a while. In some cases, it might actually help to remove Thumbs-up ratings in the station details to mix things up.

How can I add a .wav file to an entire PowerPoint slideshow? I only know how to add sound to a single slide and want the file to play through the entire presentation. Thanks in advance for your help.

Since you have not mention the power point version that you are currently using I give you the method to embed sound in your entire slide show for both PowerPoint 2003 and PowerPoint 2007.

Lets start with PowerPoint 2003 : Go to the slide where you want to initiate the sound track in .wav form.(1st slide is the default).

Go to Insert> Movies and Sound> Sound from file
Select your .wav sound file and click ok.
After you click OK you will se a dialogue box appearing asking you "How do you want the sound to play". You have to specify that. If you are not sure select "Automatically" so when you land on that slide during the slide show your music or sound will start automatically.

Select Slide Show ->Custom Animation to enter the Custom Animation pane. Confirm Your soundtrack is listed below in the pane.
  • In the drop-down list of the sound, choose Effect Options. Then the Play Sound interface appears. In the Effect tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing After XXX slides (which indicates how many slides you want this song to play across) to enter the number of slides you intend to add. For example, you can enter a number from 1 to 999 for this field. Then the sound will play throughout the specified slides.
  • Next, check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, you can set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to exit the dialog box.

  • Then go to Sound Settings tab, adjust the sound volume as you like. You can also tick to hide sound icon during slide show if you don't want it appear.
Now your sound will play from the first slide till the last.

Life is much much easier with PowerPoint 2007
  • On the slide, click Insert to pick the Sound drop-down list on the very right below the tab. Select Sound from File in the list and choose the specified sound track from your hard drive.
  • Click OK and a message prompts, saying How do you want the sound to start in the slide show? Click Automatically.
  • Now click the sound icon to display the Options tab. Click on the tab, and set Play across slides for Play Sound.
  • sound-2007.gif
At the moment, it is time for you to play the entire slide show while enjoying this pleasant sound score.
NOTE:
  • The sound you insert must be as long as your slide show. That is, if the slide show lasts 5 minutes, your soundtrack should also be at that length. Otherwise, the sound would be cut off until the slide show ends.
  • It is highly recommend that you take PowerPoint 2007 for your convenience.

I made a powerpoint presentation with PP2003, first added 6 slides, then added another 20. When I add music to the presentation, the music stops at the 6th slide. HELP!

To make a sound continue through multiple or all slides, follow these steps:
  • Go to the slide where you want to begin your audio track (defaulted as the first slide), and select Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Sound from File to insert the sound.
  • After you click OK, you can see a message pop up asking how you want the sound to start in slide shows. Click Automatically.
  • Select Slide Show ->Custom Animation to enter the Custom Animation pane. Your soundtrack is listed below in the pane.

  • custom-sound-2002.gif

    play-sound-2003.gif
  • Next, check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, you can set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to exit the dialog box.
  • Then go to Sound Settings tab, adjust the sound volume as you like. You can also tick to hide sound icon during slideshow if you don't want it appear.
Now you can play the soundtrack from the very beginning to the end of your slideshow.

Hello, i am from sikkim and i want to know or my question is that once i made a powerpoint slide and add a music in my slide as well i save the file in .pps .but what happens is that i send that slide to...

This is because if a music file is larger than a certain size (cannot remember the exact size, but relatively small) the music is not saved in the PP but in the original file. you should send the music file together with the presentation

Powerpoint 2003 music won't play over slides

Using music in power point is a nightmere. If you can just avoid doing it altogether. I suggest using movie maker if you just showing a slide show. I have made power point to work using some music but it does not always work. I spent alot of time trying to make it work and have come up empty all to often.

Adding music to a powerpoint presentation

Does the music file play when you click on it? (Drag the sound icon someplace visible on your slide and preview it.)

If it does play when you click on it, you just need to animate the music. The sound file has to be a part of your slide animation--that's what tells it when to start/stop playing. When you insert a sound file, PPT may ask you whether you want it to start automatically or wait to be clicked.

Or, you can right-click an existing sound file and go CUSTOM ANIMATION. Depending on your version of PPT, what happens next will be different. But you should be able to set the sound file to play when the slide displays without being clicked.
