I have a sanyo camera 7.1 mega pink and everytime i try and take a picture my screen goes black and shuts off without the camera piece going back in! I have almost the same problem except when I take a picture and go into the mode to look at them it is completely black. My camera was doing great and then all of a sudden it did this when I had just been taking pictures with it. Any idea what to do?

In the first case, if the camera turns off by itself with lens not retracting, try fresh alkaline battery. If that does not work, then the ribbon cable from battery charger to mainboard inside the camera is probably causing the problem.
An internal contact can also cause same problem.

If instead pictures are completely black, then there are several possible reasons:

1 There is a setting problem, remove and put back batteries to fix the problem.
2 The camera curtain is stuck and it is not opening.
3 The CCD sensor is faulty, more likely the ccd sensor contacts are broken.
4 The lens assembly has an internal problem.

Apart situation 1 , in all the remaining cases the camera will need repair.

Regards.

I have a sanyo camera 7.1 mega pink and everytime i try and take a picture my screen goes black and shuts off without the camera piece going back in!

That sounds like a serious circuit board problem.
There is no way around getting it repaired by a tech.

Zoom will not retract

I took the camera apart, painstakingly removing all the screws. Within the zoom area were two small loose pieces, one appeared to be a lens, the other a thin metal cover. I placed the parts back into their place, and put all the screws back, except for the case. When I did a test to see if everything would work..... Eureka !!! No, sorry, Darn!
The camera appears to be at the same status, turns on long enough to see the "For Service...." message pop on the screen, then the camera powers off.
I will be taking the camera apart again, and will use a meter to check connections.
Will report back if there is further progress on this situation.

The sound with the sanyo(vpc-5500) digital camera

I thought my pink sanyo VPC-5500 was messed up, but once I imported my pictures and viceos onto my computer, I opened up a vidoe player and the sound worked perfectly. So if you have the USB cable, hook your gigtal camera up to your computer and import what's on it, then you will be able to open up a video player and watch a video that was stored on it.

Sony cyber shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera

I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW1.pdf
