Card reader door will not stay closed

The plastic door that opens and closes to provide acccess to the memory card will not stay shut. It appears that the two (2) small plastic 'ears' that act as a latch have broken off of the card reader door. Can I purchase a new card reader door and install it myself? Thank you, Michael

I was trying to avoid taking this back to the dealer because I know I'll be charged out the Ying-Yang for a part that costs next to nothing. It is amazing what a bad design this cover is on an otherwise fine camera.

    Thanks for your help.

I do not know if you still want this info, but . . .

The door itself you can buy from http://www.uscamera.com for about $10 (+ $4 S/H).

Replacing the old one was a little tricky; what I did was remove the three screws inside the door, and the 11 other screws on the bottom of the camera (NOTE: some of the screws are different, so, be sure to remember where each one goes). Then I carefully pried the front half of the camera housing from the back half just behind the card door bottom edge. You only need to separate both half of the housing about a millimeter to be able to release one end of the hinge pin and slide the door off (twisting the old door a little bit helped.
Then, just reverse the procedure to install the new door.
Maybe you do not need to take off all the 11 screws in the bottom, but, I screwed them off anyway.

How to have Hisense Doors stay opne and not self close

Here are some general steps you can try to make the self-closing doors stay open:

Locate the hinge cover on the upper doors of the fridge. This is usually a plastic or metal cover that conceals the hinge mechanism.

Remove the hinge cover by gently prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver or by unscrewing any screws holding it in place.

Look for an adjustable tension screw or tab on the hinge mechanism. This is typically a small metal tab or screw that can be rotated or adjusted.

Use a screwdriver or pliers to adjust the tension screw or tab. Turning it clockwise will usually increase the tension and make the door close more quickly, while turning it counterclockwise will reduce the tension and make the door close more slowly or stay open.

Adjust the tension screw or tab as needed until the door stays open at the desired angle.

Once you have adjusted the tension, replace the hinge cover and test the door to make sure it stays open and closes properly.

Keep in mind that adjusting the tension may affect the performance of the self-closing mechanism, so you may need to adjust it again in the future if you notice any issues. It's also important to be careful when adjusting the hinge mechanism, as improper adjustments could damage the fridge or cause the doors to become unstable

Download photos computer

Download photos from any camera is highly unrecommended because that quickly disharges the camera battery. Instead, turn camera off and then open battery door. See picture memory card at camera edge, push in and release to pop up. Then, draw card out of the slot taking care to avoid finger contact with contacts. Close battery door. No insert card into card reader on computer. (Most computers these days have built in reader. USB interface readers can be purchase at low cost.)
If the upload start up dialog does not auto star, then open Computer and double cick open it there. A menu will appear offering wholesalee import you can chose Review Folders in Explorer. Once opened, photos can be handled and stored ot computer like any other file. It is preferable to copy files as opposed to moving them, using camera itself to delete files. Now close Fuji folder and initiate safe removal. When approved, remove memory card and reinsert in camera. Question answered.

When you shut the ref. doors the right one stays open. there is nothing in the way. you have to go back and shut it.

First I would look on the inside bottom of the refrigerator, where the door closes into and see if you can see any scrap or drag marks on the plastic. some doors will drop just enough to grab the plastic right befor the door closes.

your hinge could be bent causing this.

take a look at the top of the doors when their closed, and see if the right door is a little lower.

some of the doors can be adjusted at the top hinge moving the door to the right lifting it in the center.

Rear door won't stay shut

Check the latch mechanism on the door. There is a piece of the latch that closes around the clasp on the door frame. sometimes this closes when the door is open and you can't shut the door. Take a screw driver and flip this latch piece open and close the door.

Memory card shutter wont close

Try closing it with the card removed.
If it will will not close shut, this suggests a piece of plastic has broken off.
The quick fix is gaffer tape it shut.
Indeed it is likely the only fix unless the camera is still under warranty, whereupon it will be replaced

Battery/memory card compartment wont close

Don't force it. It could be that your memory card is in backwards. This is a common cause for your battery door to not shut.

Hope this helps!

Card-cover open

Look for the switch on the memory card door of your camera. Usually a small piece of plastic on the door closes the switch when the door is closed. Check to make sure that the plastic piece is not worn down and is making contact with the switch. You can confirm that this is the problem by powering on the camera while closing the switch manually with a toothpick. Make sure you keep your fingers clear of the extending lens while doing this. If the plastic is worn down or broken off, try attaching a small piece of scrap plastic with super glue.
