SOURCE: the vertical ic of my jvc tv model no. av f21mx5 are always burn even i replace a new one

Just check the supply voltage input to the vertical IC. If it is more than normal, this type of fault can occur. Just compare this voltage . The TV schematic will help you to find this detail. Check whether the IC is firmly screwed on to its metal heat sink.

SOURCE: my sansui tv has vertical line problem ic tda9370ps/n3/a1932 and vertical ic stv9302A

It sounds that the kit is a Chinese one. Check the voltage to all terminals of vertical output IC. Check and replace it. This is a common problem to these kits.

I have horizontal lines in black and white on the whole screen and tv will not turn off manually, the tv is an ilo 42 inch plasma.I only selected IBM because ilo was not listed

The problem is in the vertical section of your TV.Ethier it is loose connection or leaked capacitor or deffective vertical ic.Try to resolder first the vertical section. If did not work replace leaked capacitor around the vertical ic,then check the 12 v dc supply of vertical ic and final ok the rest is good replace vertical ic.

Horizontal line

hi,
ur tv has problem with vertical scanning section. may be dry soldering or vertical output ic faulty.
u can easily find out the vertical section on ur tv. for that u have to open ur tv. u can see a coil is fitted on the picture tube neck. there are four lines coming from the neck, of which two will go to horizontal scanning section and the remaining two will go to vertical section. follow the two thin wire normally in color green and yellow. it will go to a socket in the main board. trace the track from that socket in the main board . it will lead u to the vertical scanning section. check for any dry soldering in that section. mainly the soldering of vertical ic. if see or not re-solder the leads of the vertical ic . then check is the tv is ok or not. if complaint remains replace the vertical scanning out pout ic. it will be fitted on a aluminum heat sink in the vertical section. if u need more assistance feel free to contact through fixya.

How do you adjust the vertical lines going across my screen?

The vertical deflection circuit of your tv has a problem.
First, try to replace the vertical ic. This ic can be found near the plyback or horizontal section. It is a linear ic with heatsink.
If nothing happens after replacing the ic, replace all the polarized capacitor near the ic and resolder the components at the vertical section.

My 15 year old Toshiba Televisiononly shows a narrow horizontal band in the middle of the screen. Sound OK.

Hiii fairley,

You aren't specsificly dercribe yor tv set.
For common TV horizontal problem ;i.e : White line accross the horizontal screen, horizontal band,etc..it's can solved by replacing the IC Vertical/Transistor, and olso to replace the cap nearest the IC.

For common TV Vertical Problem :i.e : White line at the center of the screen (top to bottom),Vertical band,etc...It's can cure by Replacing the Horizontal IC/Transistor,and offcurse the cap's.

Tha's what all I know....

Hope can help you to solved the problem.

Please help

This is a problem with the vertical circuit and is usually a defective vertical IC. If you can solder, locate the vertical IC (small flat IC attached to a heat sink with about 9-11 pins). Try resoldering the pins on the IC. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC. This IC will be marked LA7837 or something similar. Keep us posted. Dan

Tv cuts off 10 seconds after switch on and destroying vertical output ic

If the main IC is not putting out a vertical drive signal then the vertical output will not do anything and therefore will not be damaged. What exactly do you mean by the set "literally eats deflection IC's"? What is the number on the vertical output IC? I will bet that your pump-up cap or pump-up diode is defective.
