Cant remember my password to gain access to my router to gain internet.

First gain access to your email address that you used to sign up for textnow. Most email web sites have a menu choice for forgot password.

If that is not possible for some reason, unfortunately, you won't have much luck, as the forgot password menu for textnow uses that email address.

Once that is fixed, the next step is the forgot password for textnow menu.

Either you've (1) entered the credentials incorrectly, (2) remembered them wrong or (3) someone has gained access to the router and changed them.

You can solve this problem only if you have physical access to the router. You should locate the reset button on the router itself. This may be recessed to prevent accidental contact, and if so - will require depressing it with a pointed object such as a pen. Performing a reset will wipe all customized settings and restore the router to factory defaults. This means you will not have wifi access to the router or internet *if* you have changed it from the original factory setting. If you are attempting this via wifi, you will need to know what those wifi settings are or connect the computer via CAT 5 network cable to one of the LAN jacks or ports on the router. Once you have found the the default wifi settings - or - have plugged the computer into a LAN jack, reboot the computer. Next, press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds while it is plugged in & powered up.

This will start the restoration of the factory default settings and cause a reboot the router. The PC will obtain an IP address automatically if connected by cable - or prompt you for the wifi's SSID and security code after it boots up. Enter the wifi factory defaults to gain access to the router and internet.

Next, gain access to the router's "set up" pages. The set up page is usually access by opening your web browser and typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, or similar private IP address in the address bar. Your manual will have these details. If successful, you will be prompted to provide the router username and password. Again, the factory defaults are in your manual - popular username defaults are "admin" or "root" and popular passwords are: ""admin" or "password"

If successful, you're "in". You should make changes as necessary to prevent others from gaining unauthorized access - again. Do not reuse any of the previous credentials if possible. This means you should (1) change the password (and admin if allowed) fields to something only you would know and do not use words that appear in a dictionary. A mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols should be used. (2) Change the SSID to something other than the default. (3) Choose the option of NOT broadcasting the SSID. (4) Select WPA or WPA2 security. WEP is NO longer considered secure and should not be used. (5) Create another "password" for the WPA security as prompted. You will have to update every device that you wish to give access to the internet; this includes laptops, tablets, game consoles, wifi enabled cell phones, etc. You can make other changes as needed - as these are only the bare *minimum* changes you should make. Be sure your changes are saved before moving to other set up pages or rebooting the router.

Finally, write down the router's admin, password, SSID, security type (WPA or WPA2), security code and the IP address on a small piece of paper. Tape it to the underside of your router. This way, it will remain out of view but readily available to you should you ever forget this information and will save you from having to do all of this again.

Step 2 : open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3 : Default password is admin

Step 4 : Click wireless

Step 5 : Choose wireless security

Step 6 : Here you can find the Password

Step 7 : Try to connect with this password

Hello Mark,

Although this does not sound like a router issue, if you can't remember your router password you can reset the router itself to factory defaults by using a pin and pushing it into the pin hole on the back of the router near the power source. Once this is done you can reconfigure the password and your network.


I believe however that you are referring to a website or something similar where your credit info can be accessed. In this case there should always be a contact option to get in touch with some sort of support people who can help you to reset the password.

go to the address bar in the internet explorer type there 1292.168.2.1then enter it then ask the user name and password

user name :cisco or admin or blank
password : cisco or admin or blank or password

try this combination then go to the wireless in the security option is there in that wireless password is there as encryption like that in the wep or wpa or wpa2/psk like the option is there then change it

The only solution for u to login in to the router is to reset the router.

1.If you forgot your password, you must reset your router. Unfortunately this process will change all your settings back to the factory defaults.

2.To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process.

3.Wait about 30 seconds to access the router.

4The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. When logging in, type in the default User Name “admin,” and the
default Password “admin” then click on the OK button to access the web-based manager.

Should be a tiny button on back, you might need a pencil to press it, just press and hold for about 10 seconds to reset to factory settings

you can auto config your network settings on the ps3, make sure you see your wiresless network, if you dont your router is not broadcasting its ssid and you need to activate it by logging into your router from a pc ( in a browser go to "192.168.1.1", username is "admin" password ia "admin" or nothing, unless you set up otherwise)

If you dont remember your WEP/WPA code you can find it under "wireless" then "security" in the router once you have gained access as mentioned above.

If all of above is ok then check your IP on your ps3 in settings, network status (i think havent done it in a while) make note of it and go back to the router as mentioned above. click applications and gaming then dmz, enable dmz and type in the ps3 ip, save settings and perform a 30 second reboot to the router (unplug it for 30 seconds) all should be good!

one last note if you have configured everything and you cant connect or it takes ages to do anything, you may need to reposition the router, mine is on the otherside of the room and is working great =p

if it is a default password it sould be either Admin or Password. if you have changed it and dont remember the password, you may have to note down the internet settings and then reset the router to bring the password back to the default. then setup the internet connection again.

In order to know your password you have to:

1) Use some program to reveal the pass
2) Get access to your router

To get access to your router do this

1) Open your browser
Type .......
http://192.168.0.1


user = admin
pass= (blank) no password

hit enter



Once inside go to Wireless and see which is your WEP password

That's it

If your wireless router have a different pass than default you need to reset the router
