Printer hangs and prints slow

When starting printing the printer seems to hang for several minutes before starting and then prints one line at a time with pauses in between.

I have exactly the same problem and got a replacement printer from Dell but new one just the same - takes 2mins to start printing and then a further 3 mins to print one side of A4.
have updated driver , re-installed hardware all to no avail.
    Dell support unable to help.

Dell replaced it for a 928 printer which is fine. Apparently the 810 won't work with vista

Machine will only print leads I II and then machines seems to hang up and stop printing.

Hello Dear

Its seems too be the problem of your printer, or the printer head.
Replace the printer if possible or clean the printer head by printind head cleaner. And run the machine if the problem exsist then change the printer.
And Check again. If it starts printing then its the printer problem.
If it dont then there is a machine problem.

LaserJet 5Si printing slow use to be able to hit the print key then the printer would fire away. seems like the printer pauses between pages then prints maybe 3 to 4 pages per minute

Could be software. I have seen the last several Adobe latest version documents take several seconds to print. I have also seen increased print times with MS office 2003 Powerpoint documents. If it is a single page MS Word or Excel document and u are printing several copies of it, you should turn off the collate feature for printing of that document

I have a Lexmark x6570 that I have used with my Dell Inspiron 1501 MANY times. It won't print now. It says "printing started" but only moves across 10-99% and stops. Nothing ever prints. I have uninstalled...

there is a little plastic clear strip of plastic that has little black lines on it. this is so the printer head knows where it is. This is usually hanging on little metal pins, and can be knocked off if the printer is jarred while printing. if you see a little clear plastic strip that runs the length of the printer track and its not attached at both ends you need to put this back on. its a pain so take your time.

If not, it could be any number of problems.

OkiC5200 has an inch wide faded print line down the left side

It might be a dirty led assembly. The leds hang down from the top when it is opened.

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.
