We purchase the maytag unit 3 years ago at Menards and we run it in the spring and summer time. Last week we turned it on and it would kick on just fine and would run but wouldn't take any moisture out of the air. Not a drop of water in the bucket. When we would turn the dial down it would kick off just like it is suppose to do. We would turn the dial up and it was running just fine but the bucket was empty. I was wondering what could be wrong with it and would it be fixable. The booklet said it had a 5 year parts warranty. Please let me know what you think. lisa Same problem as posted by another...Bought this unit 3 years ago at menards and runs all the time but picks up absolutely no water. How can I fix it???
Fedders, the maker of the maytag dehumidifier, went bankrupt and they are not honoring the warranties. call this number and if it is still under warranty, they will send you a prorated check for the remainder of your warranty. 1-866-629-8241. we had two months to go on our warranty and they gave us $14 and change.
I would return it under the warranty. Could be several problems: relay, deicing switch, compressor leaking, charred connectors, etc., etc.
Not worth trying to define the problem if it's still under warranty.

We just figured out it could be the capacitor. Going to try replacing that part and go from there!
throwing parts at the problem?? I think this is a site to help people with their problems not add to it by being a smart ***. FYI people with the same problem should check or replace the capacitor. Our problem solved!
