Whirlpool electric double oven #RBD305PDQ14 control panel blank

We have a Whilpool electric double oven model # RBD305PD. Out of the blue, it started to beep and there is no digital display on the control panel. The light function works and it sounds like it is firing up when you press the Bake button. Turned power off for ten minutes and when power restored the same problem occured. Same problem. Tech came and fixed control panel but said that this is defect in model and not to use self-clean option or it would happen again. Didn't self-clean but it happened again anyway. What a disappointment - NOT a cheap appliance. No help from Whirlpool.

so did they replace the controller or the touch panel? hopefully they replaced your EOC if there was no display. EOC means electronic oven controller. unless what happened to you was 2 seperate issues for example when you did a self clean usually this blows your TCO (thermal cutoff) but this does not kill your display this just kills your heat bake and broil. Is this what happened?

I suspect a poor connection at the wiring to the EOC is the cause of the failures.

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric double oven #RBD305PDQ14 control panel blank

The control panel part on my Whirlpool double oven (part #8302319) went blank six months back. Replaced it. Asked if there was a warranty on the part, was told no there was not. Yesterday, the six month old control panel went blank. Disappointed that Whirlpool manufactures such garbage.

Control Panel has likely failed (circuit board). You can try removing the power wire from the back of the panel and then replug it back in to see if it resets the board, but Im sorry to say your likely going to have to remove and replace the control panel.

I have a Whirlpool RBD305PDQ8. The display is blank, but will beep when pushing the buttons. If I attempt to start the oven, it will not turn the oven on and will have a series of beeps. Do I need to...

Up there in the controls is a bullet fuse like this:
themobilian_1084.jpg
Designed to kill power to the controls if it gets too hot in there so the controls won't be harmed. That could be it but I don't know if it would beep if the fuse is blown, that could be a bad control. Use this manual to help you diagnose:

GBD RBD Whirlpool Oven Problems Causes and Solutions

Hello Edward!
This blank display is a common control board problem. If the buttons beep when pressed, then the control board is getting adequate power. If the buttons beep.. and your oven light still turns on when the oven door is open.. this a text book control board failure. We at Fixyourboard.com can solve this problem for you, and back the remanufacture with a two year warranty.

Whirlpool Double Oven RBD305 Display doesn't show, oven wont work

Most definitely a bad control board and/or soldered components. (The part about cutting power to the oven was a dead giveaway)
There are low and high temperature solders, but usually solder melts at 370° F. If the oven is improperly insulated or ventilated you will have continued heat stress to the control board.

Control panel for oven functions has gone blank with occasional beeping sounds

The control panel may have a power issue. Replacing the board fixed my problem. It looks like 4 resistors and a ZD1 diode heat up and fail. The U1 chip could also be a problem. If you replace the controller it will cost around $225. Be careful of the key pad ribbon cable. They break easily. Another $186. Good luck.
