We recently purchased 2 x Playstation 3 machines in Hong Kong believing they would be compatable with New Zealand PAL system, they are not. Is there any way we can have them upgraded or momdified? Are parts available? These will not play PS2 games or read dvd's and we believe they will not read the new blue ray dvd's either. We can't find any support from the agents.

DVDs are encoded with a "Region Code" to allow studios to control release dates around the world. Hong Kong Region Code is 3, UK is 2. Your player will not play back Region 2 DVDs that you are purchasing or renting in UK. It will work fine with Region Code 3 DVDs I would bet.
try putting a laser head cleaning disk in.
Check that the machines region coding is the same as the country your in.
You may only be able to play JAP Or NTSC-J Games on this Console, due to region compatability restrictions.
