There was a paper jam. I got the paper out but now error message 6A00 appears in the screen. I have tried to turn off and on.

Hi,
The error code means paper path jam.
Inside your printer a paper path sensor has been activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.
So please check for any stuck paper, debris
The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.
Also clean the purge unit out make sure all is clean

Paper jam (e3) BUT no paper jam

make sure you open all check points, if yours has a rear feed through, look in there also. it only takes a tiny piece of paper to cause it to say that. use a flash light, have had to use one to find several that way.

Problem with Canon MP600

Hi,

I had the same problem with my Canon Pixma MP610.

After stripping the printer down I found there is a lever in the path of the paper that operates a photo electric sensor. This can get stuck in the wrong position. To reset it get a sheet of A4 paper or (better) card fold back a 1 cm strip on the top edge of the paper and press it down flat. Open the rear cover and insert the sheet folded edge first and folded flap upper most over the top of the upper set of rubber rollers. Push it into the machine as far as it will go and then withdraw it. You should feel a little resistance or here a click as the lever is reset. You printer should now work.

Several hours of frustartion and foul language have brought you this fix. I hope it works for you.

Regards

Jon

Paper jam error nothing appears to be in there.

Kept messing with the printer. Took some of it apart. Changed out cartridge. Still found no jam. Turned it on and off multiple times.
Finally it worked. Prayer is all I know that worked.

Paper jam

This model has 5 places where you might encounter jammed paper. Since you said you cannot see it, I suspect that it may be one of the following:

1) Inside from the front - (This is a similar to accessing the print cartridges). Raise the scanning unit until it stops (cartridges move to the center). Open the two inner covers. Gently clear the jam. Try not to touch the printer components. Close both inner covers, lower the scanning unit. Press <OK>

2) Inside transport unit - Open the rear cover. Remove the jammed paper or any bits that you may find. Close the rear cover. Press <OK>

3 yellow flashes, then 1 green on a Canon PIXMA Ip4000

3 flashes is a GREAT symptom report. We need some more than that, but it does give us a direction.

If this is a "Service Call Error", it will be accompanied by an on screen message that includes a "6000" error code.
Here are the possible solutions....
- Timing sensor unit (QM2-1213)
- Timing **** disk film (QC1-4833)
- Feed roller ***'y (QL2-0598)
- Platen unit (QM2-1215)
- Logic board ***'y (QM2-1548)*1
- PAPER FEED MOTOR (QK1-0550)

These solutions are not for the novice, but are user servicible for many out there.

If this is a "Operator Call Error", it will also be accompanied by on screen error codes

Paper jam. [1300]
Paper jam in the under guide. [1304]
Paper jam in the rear guide. [1303]
Solution: Remove the jammed paper, and press the Resume/Cancel
button.
OR

Front door closed. [1250] Open the paper output tray.

Canon MP 510 paper jam

I had the same problem and found a small coin in the back feeder. Remove the back coverplate and tip the machine onto its back and give it a good shake. You might be surprised at what falls out.

Paper jam

I had a paper jam issue on mine and it was due to the fact that I had the door open on the back of the unit.

Stranger things have happened i guess :)

Clear Paper Jam error -- but there is no paper jam!

Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...
