Is it possible to replace the overload sensor on my Everstar HDBC361D wine cooler? I built it in without adequate ventilation and it stopped cooling effectively. The compressor and fan still run and the "alarm" never beeped, but it won't cool back down properly.

Thermoelectric devices (or modules) require direct current (DC) for operation. Alternating current (AC), the form of electricity found in wall outlets, causes a thermoelectric device to alternate between heating and cooling, rendering it effectively useless. "Ripple" is the AC component of DC current and occurs when a power supply does not completely convert AC current to DC current.
You just might want to find out why the AC is not turning to the DC required, This could be a matter of chaning outlet plug or maybe the Ower pack that coverts the AC to DC.

It is probably the thermostat itself(what you set temperature with). They endure the most abuse in the system and directly affect the temperature,of which there are several different ways your cooler would react because of the 2 separate sections within it and this easily is one of the common problems. If you want to self repair it should be faily easy. However, there are some products which makers will not sell parts to the public. You didn't list the maker's name or model number but a call to them would tell you if they do sell parts to the public.I have repaired many things on my own,not through my shop, but never a wine cooler. It should just be removing a panel to access the thermostat, perhaps simply plastic clipped, following it through the back wall and finding it under an access panel in back.If they will sell parts to the public, get as much info out of them as you can to help if you self-repair.Also,make sure the circuit breaker is pulled.Once you change it,it takes about 24 hours to cool back down to what you set it at and adjust from there. If you need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to yor post and reply ASAP.Good luck,Greg

Can you explain what you have done and what you have find ? Did you spot the heat sink ?he aluminium part with louvrs?
Absolutely, every wine cooling system has to have a ventilation
system that will channel the heat generated in the operation, outside of the
unit, including the thermoelectric wine cooler.
Koldfront makes a great dual zone cooler. I found you one that holds 18 bottles with
space for 6 bottles of white wine and 12 bottles of red.
You will be spoilt
for choice. There are so many
thermoelectric coolers to choose from. I
found a few well-known brands for you to browse through.
