The reason for such lines if they appear only on scans/copies from the automatic document feeder (adf), but not on regular scans and printouts is that there is dirt on the small glass stripe next to the scanner area that is used for scanning from the adf. Just clean that glass stripe and the lines should go away.

SOURCE: Black vertical lines issues on Samsung multifunction fax SF

Black lines are usually a sign that you have toner on the laser slip glass which is usually situated above the drum unit, its just a little bit of glass if u give this a wipe and get toner on ur finger or rag then thats probably what wrong. If you don't I would look at your drum unit as it might not be cleaning correctly, which would mean getting a new one.
Hope you find this info helpful. Cheers

Had the same problem. Samsung said new machine or circuit board.
I had nothing to loose, so I tried cleaning and remelting solder joints.
You can Google to findout more and make your oun decesion. I sprayed liquid solder flux on the solder side of the board and put in preheated 450" oven for 25min and took it out to cool. Ihas worked fine ever since. I will try again on other boards if I have a similar problem. I fixed a circuit board on the body control module on my Escalade last weekend. I could see the bad joint on this board with careful examination. I used a solder gun this time because I could see the exact spot and it was a larger solder joint.
Hope this helps you. Robert

Vertical line on page when scanning/faxing

Clean the scanner glass. You probably have some dirt or whiteout on it. Open up the top feeder and look at the narrow glass and you'll probably find it.

I have black vertical lines on copies from automatic feed

Good luck. I've tried everything. The stupid thing jams on me 9 of 10 times so I guess the good news is I don't get a lot of black lines since it won't even print.
