Why won't my tablet connect to the internet?

Authentication errors happen when the tablet does not have the correct credentials to log onto the network. Be sure you have the correct SSID and password to join your local network. You can check this in Settings.

Why when I try to open my messages and notifications does it say oops this page cannot be found?

It sounds like you might have a problem with your network connection. I'd call my internet provider and tell them what problem you're having. They seem happy and patient to walk people through all sorts of issues. If this just happened and never happened in the past, empty your browser's cache and restart your computer, then try to log in again. If you can't log into your page, there's something wrong, you shouldn't be getting a redirect or error message.

Finding router ssid

Depends on the router you have, if it is a Linksys or Cisco you can try to log into by opening your browser and going to this address, it is your router, http://192.168.1.1 this is the default router address for all Linksys and Cisco routers. Once you log into your router, then pick Connectivity from the menu and the SSID is listed on then BASIC Tab. If you have another brand just google SSID and the brand and it will tell you what address to use to use. BTW -- If your router has a password then you'll need to know that also to get into the router to see the SSID.

Another option is you are not in a place with a lot of them is just use any wireless device and have it look for networks in your range, the name of the various networks that pop up in that list is the SSID of the routers.

Once you get into your router you can change the SSID to something you'll remember.

I am trying to connect to netflix thru my wii and t says that the ssid code is wrong and i don't know what to do.

If by SSID code they mean the name of your home network double check that you are indeed typing it in correctly, as it will be case sensitive (make sure caps lock is not on). If they mean your SSID password (encryption key) then double check by logging onto your router that you are typing the correct passphrase. If you have another computer you can usually log in to the router's setup/management by going to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.16.0.1. This works on most routers. From there you would want to view the "security" tab or something along those lines and check to see
what your SSID is and/or what the security passphrase / encryption key is.

I AM NOT SEEING THE ROUTER THAT I WANT TO CONNECT TO BUT I AM SEEING OTHERS

So this is wireless? Log in to your router with a wired connection and check if its SSID is being broadcast. If it is not, you can still connect but you need to know what the SSID is and configure your computer with that information. Often the SSID is not broadcast, as a form of security - "security through obscurity". If no one can see it, they are unlikely to try and connect to it.

You didn't give any information about the type of router so I have to make some guesses - if SSID broadcast is on, then check that it is supporting the type of wireless you are using to connect to it. For example, is it supporting A/B/G and you are trying to use Wireless-N to connect?

Using your web browser, log in to your router's setup page (usually 192.168.1.1 or something similar) using a wired ethernet connection. Enter the username and password. Check the setup for your wireless network's SSID.

Im trying to connect my linksys-g to my dell computer. for some reason my computer can't find the connection. am i doing something wrong??

Your linksys router may have the SSID Broadcast disabled in setup. If the SSID Broadcast is disabled, wireless will not work.

You must log into the router to change the wireless settings. If you have the manual that came with the router, there should be a step by step for logging in. If not let me know.

Change name

You would like to change the SSID to something else?

The SSID is the name that is broadcasted, the name that you see when you connect to your network.

  1. Log into the web configuration of your router at http://my.router, or the default address http://192.168.2.1. The Enter Network Password login prompt appears.

  2. Type the following text in the user name and password fields: "admin".

  3)
In the "Wireless" setup tab:

- Change the default SSID to something meaningful to you, but something that does not give anyone else any hints about your network. For example, using your name or your residence's street address as the SSID is not what you'd call a bright idea.
