Very low sound in my toshiba satellite

get to the audio in settings and adjust bass and treble effects

try this first

a. turn over computer overnight and let it 'drip dry'

b. take a hair dryer on low heat and fan and GENTLY run it over the keyboard about 1 inch back and at angle

try that first and report back

you might get lucky

could it be because it may be telling you that the battery is getting very low and that you need to plug in and charge

my toshiba laptop does it when its very low

Install Proper Driver of sound card for your current O.S. is it Windows XP SP3 ?
First Unistall sound driver , then Reinstall New latest driver for your current O.S.

Check which microphone device u have set up. Try changing it around. Also try just speaking closer to the microphone and into the mic. Some mics just are not good.

that's not surprising all old Toshiba dn't usually have a great sound in fact i'm using an old toshiba right now... there's only one thing you can really do is buy some portable 4.0 speakers...

Maybe is dumb answer, but did you try to bring the volume up by small knob on front of the laptop (right side).

Download the sound drivers from the site given below, it will also help you to get other drivers for your notebook
