Sounds like you will need a new power supply board you can get the power boards from www.tvrepairworld.com which also has instructions for replacing the board. Just hit the contact us button on the right side then enter your model number and symptoms a samsung tech will respond via email to assist you with the issue.

Maybe the plasma controllers are gone.

This is weird. I also have a plasma 50" model PS5Q91HDX and on the 5/02/11 the screen went blank when my friends daughter was watching a Wiggles DVD. The image kept coming back, flashing a scene or two before going black again. But the sound is perfect.

I wonder what is going on? Is anyone else having trouble with their 3-4 year old Samsung 50" TVs???

parts is not a problem.as long as it has the same serial numbers and other specs.

Sounds like main board failure and or power board failure. You need to contact manufacturer and describe problem for tech support. Some of the parts in Samsung TVs have lifetime warranties. Change out of two board is about an hour job and service call is usually comped. Hope this helps. J

is this a plasma or a dlp tv? if is a dlp a have bad news for you get rid of the tv, if is a plasma then is something different, post the model # anyway to see if we can help you.
