I just upgraded to snow leopard and my previous driver was erased, so I did some digging around and found the right driver (it is not included even in the most recent GutenPrint software).
Look at the Global Samsung website - the US Samsung site does not support MacOS drivers.
http://www.samsung.com/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=213919&type=Printer&typecode=15&subtype=Laser+Printer&subtypecode=1501&model=ML-1430&filetype=DR&language=
Your OS should ask to install Rosetta to read the file (Zip), but then the install is quick and easy. The printer driver immediately showed up in the printer>setup>driver menu. Prints without a hitch.
Haven't booted my laptop into 64bit kernel, so I don't know if the driver is 64bit compatible - I expect not. Hope this helps.

Sorry! I went to the Samsung website http://www.samsung.com and navigated to the ML-1430 Driver page and there are no drivers for the MAC OS. You may want to contact Samsung to let them know you need drivers for you MAC OS. If enough people write them they may create one for you.

Maybe someone knows of another MAC driver from samsung that will work for your printer.

Try downloading the driver from the below link. With Snow Leopard, if a printer is plugged in and Snow Leopard doesn't already have the driver, it's supposed to download it via Software Update; however, this sometimes does not work well.

try to use the Generic drivers and not the Samsung ML driver for your model. In the drivers list type in GEN and it'll show up.
