Generally TV takes RCA Cable. So You need two cable one for Video i.e. VGA to RCA Cable and another is 3.5mm Pin to RCA.
In RCA Yellow Pin is for Video so from VGA to RCA cable Connect Yellow Pin to TV and Red and White pins are for audio so connect white and red pin from 3.5mm Pin to RCA cable.

you will need a converter. try amazon or newegg. they are available but not cheap.

what kind of connection does you laptop have? vga, dvi or maybe hdmi? im guessing you have vga and this might work depending on your laptop. i dont guarantee anything VGA to Video RCA Composite Adapter Cable Black

Yes, you should be able to. You will need to buy a $20 adapter. Sewell Direct sells them, also Amazon.com. They are called VGA to RCA composite video converter. This will convert your laptop's VGA output to RCA composite video for connection to your TV yellow video input. Connect an audio cable from laptop's earphone output to the TV's RCA audio inputs (white and red) using a 3.5mm to RCA adapter cable available at Radio Shack for about $10. This will work. You can see everything that the laptop displays on the TV. You can even hookup a VCR to record it all.
